Thank you so much. I'm really terrified about it, but I know that exercise is supposed to be fun and make you feel good and the way I've been exercising until recent has made me feel like it's a punishment and I work myself often to the point where I feel like jumping in front of a car or something.

I went to my doctor recently for help with an eating disorder and he wants me to cut back on my brisk jogs, to keep me from losing muscle mass and hurting my joints. I tend to over exercise and I'm really scared of starting to cut back today. I'm a stay at home mom, so that doesn't help. My mind wants me to believe if I'm…

That's all great advice, hopefully I'll be able to afford a bike or some other sort of machine soon. Heck, even a regular bike would be nice.

I know I posted a similar topic yesterday, but does anyone know if there is an exercise I can do that burns about the same number of calories as a brisk walk/ jog @ about 5 mph, but puts less stress on my leg joints. Maybe something I can do for every other day that I jog. Thank you.
-
Okay, I crunched some numbers, which I know I should have done so earlier >_< and my slower daily walks are at least 2.5 to 3 mph, and my brisker walks average about 5.0 mph, alternating brisk walking and jogging.
-
One more question: Would I still be burning about the same amount of calories by still walking the same distance at a slightly slower pace or would I have to increase the time walking or anything?
-
It may be more like 2.5 or 3 mph, but I like to err on the slow side. Those are some good ideas, thank you everyone.

If anything, I'd like to cut my brisk walk out on the days I do the pilates, or find something that will burn about the same amount of calories but be less strenuous on my joints. The pilates involves strength training with resistance bands. Any ideas?

After seeing my doctor recently, he expressed his concern about me having a possible eating disorder that involves compulsively over exercising. He wants me to decrease some exercises. He's also concerned about my joints as well. The thing is, he didn't tell me what to decrease, so I need some suggestions. Here's my normal…

I had a c-section when my daughter was born just a little over a year ago. I got back in shape, my new abs are where the pouch used to be (thank God for pilates!) but still retain my stretch marks and scar. I don't look at them as embarrassments, but as battle scars. My stretch marks are very visible, but really silvery. I…

I get the same way with anything really sweet. My stomach will hurt and my taste buds can't stand it. It gets used to it if I have a small sweet or something without added sugars or homemade, but if it's anything bought from a bakery or packaged and full of preservatives, I can't stand it.

I know this has probably been answered before, but do the flavored coffees you get at coffee shops, like the "flavor of the day' or what not, have calories, or are they like the other black coffees that only have calories after you add cream and sugar?

I'm currently very underweight, and I need some advice from someone who has been there before. I weigh 100 lbs right now and I need to get to 110 at least. I'm just scared that all the extra weight is going to go to my stomach. Is this what happens? I really would appreciate any answers, advice, or information on how…

*phew* Thank you for the responses. I was so afraid that I was going to get a response that resembled a "You can't have sugar or else you will burn in fiery pits for eternity!" -type of speech.

I know that there are a lot of these on here, and I know sugar is bad in large amounts, but I seem to be right at or under my allowed sugar intake just from regular foods alone. That in itself is a good thing, but what do I do if I want to have an occasional treat? I try to treat myself at least once or twice a week to…

I've been doing the exercises on the "Firm Pilates" dvd, but I can't figure out how to put it in my exercise log. Pilates doesn't come up. Would I just put it under general aerobics, or does it burn less/more calories than that?

I drink soymilk all the time (the Silk vanilla is my favorite >^.^<) It's not my TOM, no tenderness or medical problems, now that I think of it, I have increased my fiber intake and my water intake too. That may just be it, at least, I hope that's all it is. lol, ty for the help.

Okay, I'm sticking to my calorie intake without going over or under, I'm not going over on my sugars sodium or fat allowances, and I've been exercising and doing pilates, yet when I look in the mirror, I've noticed that my stomach looks puffed out and bloated. According to my BMI, I'm 1 pound underweight and I've slowly…

Since I've been eating in a more healthy way, I've been limiting sweet treats to once or twice a week and I've noticed that when I do indulge, some treats that I used to love have become very sweet, even to the point of being somewhat unbearable. Is this normal?

Hi, I'm new here and actually trying to gain weight. I've been on the verge of anorexia and now I'm trying to gain back weight in a healthy way while exercising and eating right. If you have any advice or tips, I'd really appreciate it. My self esteem is really low, so trying to gain weight has made it even lower.
