I am 46 years old. I started running when i was 39. After my first 5 mile race I was hooked. For a few years my goal was a half marathon. I kept getting injured, then 4 years ago I completed my first half in 2:28. I ran the whole thing and swore i would never do it again. My niece ran the Chicago Marathon 2 weeks later and…

I play with the speed when I am running on the treadmill. I normally do a walk run, but when I am running straight through, I start at 5mph and increase by .1 every minute till 6 then bring it back down to 5 and start it all over. It makes the time go faster so I do not get as bored. Last summer I did one of my long runs…

I think this is amazing. I have ran two marathons and did not burn 3500 calories. I know I could not do this every day.

I actually think the wii dance is the best workout. We have 2 and 3. I also have the wii fit. With the wii fit, it has so many breaks in it that you lose the momentum. Feels like it takes forever and not a real great workout. My reccomendation is to not waste the money.

Good luck and stick with it. Nursing is a tough ,stressful proffession. I know, cause I have been one for 24 years. Hang in there. Excercise really does help with the stress of it. Find something you love doing, not something that is going to be a chore to do. You are more apt to stick with it.

I am from Wisconsin and a huge packer fan. I need motivation for the wintertime, cause hate running or walking outside. I have a treadmill, but lose my motivation during the winter. I would love to build up my milage early on in the year. I run half marathons and 1 marathon a year.

I would love to do this for January also. Let me know if anyone starts this.

Thanks for the tips. I am hoping that when I start ramping up the long miles this time around, I can stay away from all the quickie carbs. I definitely need something to be accountable to. My willpower has sucked lately.
