  • If you eat sustainable tuna the mercury levels will be lower. Wild Planet Foods for example sources their tuna from the North Pacific where there are smaller fish, therefore they have less mercury. All their tuna contains less than half the mercury compared to the national brands.
  • You can also try Vitalicious's VitaMuffin Mixes. They are just $6.25 per pack and each makes a dozen VitaTops. Unlike some copycat recipes, each one of these homemade VitaTops will be 100 calories with 4g of protein, 8g of fiber and packed with vitamins and minerals.
  • All the VitaTops are 100 calories but each can vary slightly in sugar content. The Deep Chocolate and Raisin Bran for example have 11g, while the Apple Crumb and Banana Nut have 7g, the Pumpkin Spice has 8g and the Corn has 9g (all the nutritional info is on the site). There are also sugar-free flavors - Velvety Chocolate…
  • Safeway, Vons, Pavilions, Tom Thumb, Randalls, Park N Save Market, Genuardi and Dominicks have them along with all Targets. They have a store locator on their site so you can find the closest spot. Enjoy them!!
