  • Very helpful!!! Thanks.
  • Wow... The monster came back yesterday. I thought I was doing so well too... but on the ride home I became overwhelmed by stress and hunger...I stuffed myself with pork rinds. I am not sure what triggered it. I am still trying to figure it out. The only thing saving me today is the fact that I dropped 1 pound today. Moving…

  • Looking Good!!! Awesome progress!
  • Edit: I recently reduced my calories to 800-1000 per day. I am under my doctor's supervision.
  • Bumping...great topic.  My doctor recently put me on an 800 -1000 calorie diet. And I was instructed to do cardio and strength training. I believe it is only safe for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose...like over 50 pounds.

  • Hi, I am natural too. I am still trying to find the right products. Right now I have Tresemme Naturals conditioner. It's not bad. I use S-curl or Wave Nouveau as a leave in conditioner. Those are awesome. My hair has been in mainly two strand twists for the last few months...very low maintenance.
  • Hi Everyone, Thanks for this group. It is nice to chat with others who can relate...maybe we can find a solution together.
  • Yay Sandy! Way to go and keep up the good work!

  • Yes, I can relate to that. I have been craving fish lately myself. Sardines, cottage cheese and cream cheese so far. I bought about a million cans of tuna yesterday too. It is very filling. I was thinking of making a tuna 'casserole' with miracle noodles this evening. and some salty cucumbers on the side...
  • Hi! Congratulations on your decision to start a healthy way of eating. I am also on a low carb diet. Diabetes runs in my family and killed my Dad. Good luck to you sir.
  • If you're willing to venture out of the city, my favorite spot is Cedarville State Park in Brandywine, MD. I've taken the dogs and kids hiking through the trails. Also, there is a lake for fishing. It is not that crowded which is what I like the most about it. Also, I believe there's hunting available, I think. And a…
  • Cool, you're a twin huh? My brother just had twin girls. They are such cuties and they are nothing alike. You're reminded me that I can't wait to see them again...
  • Might check out the new bookstore in Waldorf today with the kids. I was totally bummed they closed down our Borders. Everyone in the neighborhood used to hang out there and mooch their free wifi LOL! (Tee hee, yeah my life is that boring). Also, will be drilling the kid on his spelling bee words this weekend. (He will be…
  • I guess the whole net carbs thing is the biggest difference I could tell, also you are allowed a wider variety of vegetables they allow us on the updated Atkins diet. The 1972 version of the diet was a lot stricter during induction too. I am losing at a pretty normal rate - 9lbs in a month ain't bad... Still got a long way…
  • I agree, that's great! Keep up the good work.
  • Teehee, my dogs came to mind first - is that weird? I love this challenge! Not sure how I missed yesterday's... Anyway, I really need to think about this one - I'll be back!
  • Hi there! Sounds like you have a busy day planned. Nice progress, BTW! My goals for today are to: 1. Get a minimum of 1200 calories, max of 1500 2. 12-15 grams of carbs from vegetables. 3. Max of 20 total carbs (induction). 4. Oh yeah, physical activity - get my minimum of 30 minutes walk today. Also later one will try to…
  • I am tempted...LOL! The main thing I am cautious about is the whole net carbs thing. Last time I did Atkins, it was old school version, so I am paranoid about the subtracting fiber stuff (especially if it is not a vegetable) It feels like I'm cheating when I do that LOL.... Maybe after induction would be best for me.
  • Dude, that's totally amazing!!!
  • Hi Everyone! This is my second week of Atkins induction. I have been doing pretty well - I have also been trying to maintain 1500 calories. My diary is open if anyone wants to take a peek. I'd love some tips!
  • I am new to Atkins and I am currently following the 1500 calorie diet 20 net grams of carbs (induction). I believe the calorie range for women on atkins (not inlcuding activity level) is 1500-1800 calories per day.
  • Hi, Now that sounds tasty!! Sounds like it could be safe for induction too, right?
  • Hi Everyone! I just joined this group today. This is my second week on Atkins Induction, but I have been restricting calories for about a month now and I have lost 9lbs so far. I have a serious carb addiction that I am trying to break free from and that is why I chose Atkins. I have a significant amount of weight to lose…
  • Hey JerseyGirl, I found a low-carb group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-group You might be interested too, I just joined.
  • Hi! I have been doing Atkins too. Check out my diary if you like. This is my second week on induction 20 net carbs - so far so good. I have been having trouble getting my 15 grams of veggies in per day though... Not to hijack, but I would love it if some low-carb veterans could critique my diary and give me some tips as…
  • 1. My ability to forgive easily. This has made life easier to deal with IMO. 2. I have really improved my level of patience as I have grown older. 3. My never-ending curiosity...I am always learning new things (every day). 4. My lack of pride. I have been told that I am pretty easy to talk to/get along with because I…
