Thanks. I started off at 102 kgs. I had lost 15 kgs in the past 7 months. So I am by no means lean. Rather between the man boobs and beer belly I thought instead of just walking and dieting maybe add some weight training to burn more calories and enhance my weight loss. I was eating at 1200 calories for the past 2 to 3…

Thanks for all the info. The information about glycogen helps a great deal as I understand whats going on. So thanks. As for my BMR, TDEE and stuff. I used this website to calculate the rate at which I need to eat: http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/ Based on that it said I should eat 1745 calories a…

Eat more? Really? I am aiming to be 75 kgs. So need to lose another 12 kgs or so. What would the logic be - I am not questioning the idea, I am just trying to better understand how it works.

Thanks all. I am basically going to go back to jogging and weights for now. Lose some more weight and try insanity again in a few months.

Thanks for the advice. I can't run a mile consistently I will need to stop. But I can do 10 push ups without a problem. Do around 10 x 4 every other day. So basically try it out and take a break whenever need be. No need to over exert myself and tape measure. Thanks.

Well that sucks. So diet it is.

Not aiming to choose one over the other. I am merely aiming to see which aspect I should increase for greater weight loss. I want to lose 1 kg a week or so while building some lean muscle mass.

Well at 5'9 (175 cm) and 194 pounds (88 kgs) I am around 18 kgs over my ideal weight. So that would be roughly 40 pounds over what I should be ideally. I should be between 70 and 75 kgs. So I need to lose the weight specifically first and then build up the muscle if I can. As for diet I have cut out many carbs except for…

Consistent with what exactly?

Interesting I did not know that. I usually have fresh juice with my breakfast every few days. I like the energy it gives me (I am assuming the juice gives me the energy that is.)

That is what I was thinking. Its not like I am eating cakes, cookies or stuff high in sugar and carbs. I am 97 kgs and MFP says i need to eat 2300 calories to maintain my weight. I eat at roughly 1800 calories. If that is true I must be eating 3000 calories to gain that much weight. But I wanted ask people here about the…

Between 6 and 6:30 in the morning. After showering and the rest. My food log consists of a normaly cereal breakfast with some fruits. Plus tea/coffee Lunch is some vegetables and bread with fruits. Dinner is roughly the same. My food intake consistently includes some carbs, vegetables and maybe some plain yougart. No real…

Sorry if I wasn't clear. That is what I meant. More than your BMR but less than your TDEE. The question is has this method worked and so far from the rather quick replies (thanks btw) it has worked. So I will give it a shot. Thanks.

Dumb question but maybe someone can help. My Katch Mcardle is 1794. The TDEE at that level is 2152. I have a sedentary life style due to work and location. No real exercise save for climbing stairs and walking around the office. The BMR for that is 2126 and the TDEE at that level is 2551, From what I understand (and…

Thanks all for your input and advice.

It would be great to get an answer to this as I have the same problem. I am eating under my calorie intake. I exercise every day or there abouts but no change in weight.
