  • Hi! I am at 251 lbs right now, lost some weight (six pounds) but fell off the wagon and went back to drinking Starbucks venti mochas almost daily...the last time I gave them up ended about a month ago and now I am addicted to them again...trying to stay away from them..any tips out there, anyone? finding a sub…
  • You are very correct about that. I guess that to lose weight, we need to restrict our fats even if they are the "good" ones. So I guess our goal could be that when we do eat fats, be sure to eat only the good ones and not the trans fats, etc. If we are eating only the good fats, we don't need them to be broken down as we…
  • There's something called Agave that is a liquid all-natural sweetener (from cactus) that tastes really good and is easy to add to unsweetened iced tea. It has a lower glycemic index and supposedly our bodies have a better time assimilating it than bleached white sugar. You only need to add a little to make the tea taste…
  • It sounds like you live in a great town. My whole family is very active but we live in New Jersey which does not have the beautiful scenery and mountains that are shown in your picture. That's great that you and your significant other can enjoy the outdoors so much. I'm jealous of that!! And it's much more fun to work off…

  • Hi & welcome, I just joined last week and I need to lose 100 lbs also - let's do it together! So far this week I have burned 1,800 calories at the gym and also am religiously logging in my calories. It really has made me aware of what a lousy diet I eat even tho I am very aware of what to eat for optimum health. Good luck…
  • Welcome! I am new to this site, too. Good luck. A bowl of cereal with lowfat milk is satisfying and healthy. Or a half cup of cottage cheese with reduced-fat potato chips. Cape Cod 40% reduced fat chips taste really good and I actually prefer them to the full-fat ones which are rather greasy.
  • Thanks for the suggestion. I always try to duplicate the mocha at home with other less caloric ingredients but then I break down and go for "the real thing". But I will keep trying
  • Yeah, I love the tracking, too. Now need to get some work done, talk to you later. Thanks again for being so welcoming.
  • Wow, this is great! Two messages five minutes after my post! Thanks so much! Will remember to drink water - it's not a problem when I exercise, especially in the summer. My problem is Starbucks - I think I am addicted to the sugar in the venti mochas I can't seem to stop drinking. Any ideas??? It's my comfort food…

  • I am a 49 year old mom with my own business who has gained slowly over the last twenty years and really fast over the last year (50 lbs!). That was after the sudden death of my mom and I think the weight gain may be the result or at least influenced by my being on Paxil, the antidepressant which has really helped me regain…
