  • Well, today is pizza, beer, and football. I'm hoping to get motivated to start tracking again tomorrow!
  • Have to admit, I'm having a hard time putting down the wine glass this week. I threw my back out on Monday, and while I am doing much better now, I am unable to work out until at least next week. Now, a reasonable person would say "I can't work out, so I'm going to be extra dilligent about my calories." Me? I say, " I…
  • AMAZING wine cellar! Enjoy Napa. If you get a chance to do Amador county sometime, it's worth it! Am sick today, so that makes it really easy not to drink. Nyquil doesn't count, does it? :-). Day 2 down!
  • Question: How many are running outside vs. how many run on a treadmill? Why do you prefer what you prefer? I like the treadmill because it shows my calorie burn and how far I've gone, but I am really starting to like running outside because I can change my pace easier, and the sights and smells are so nice. None of that…
  • I have to admit, I did dump it. But don't feel too badly, as it was a really crappy, cheap merlot. There aren't very many wines I could do that to! :-) This is my Sunday night, meaning my work week starts tomorrow. It's a short one this week though, as I will have Monday and Tuesday off too. My goal is to at least make it…
  • Okay, I was going to say that I wasn't going to have any wine tonight, then I remembered that I have a bottle on the counter with only about 2 glasses left in it. I'm going back and forth between having that tonight, but nothing more (I would have to go get more, so that shouldn't be a problem), or just pouring it down the…
  • I'm psyched to find this group! I am on W2D3 today. I have done the program before, but never got all the way through it. I did get pretty far though (through the dreaded 20 minute run in week....5?) Anyway, the last time I did this, I was running on a treadmill, but this time I am running outside. I used to have an itouch…
  • This was going to be my "no wine" week, but that hasn't gone so well. Not nearly as much fun as "wine" weeks. I've done pretty well with calories, and excellently with working out, so there are two out of three! I know better than to even consider a posibility that next week will not include alcohol. We have a birthday…
  • I took a stab at number of servings. At second glance I probably should have made it 8 instead of 6.
  • I am a broccoli FIEND, and I can't wait to try this! I ran it thru a recipe calculator, so in case anyone is interested, here are the stats. I didn't add the seasonings or herbs when I ran it. Nutrition Facts 6 Servings Amount Per Serving Calories 167.7 Total Fat 14.2 g Saturated Fat 2.6 g Polyunsaturated Fat 1.7 g…
  • I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for your original posting! I had never heard of sparkpeople before, and while I LOVE MFP, I have been able to find some great recipes on sparkpeople, and some of the articles that have been sent to my email have been very interesting. I am not interested in it for the tracking and…
  • I really liked them, but my husband and kids didn't so I haven't made them again. I think I'm going to though! It's a great way to get your veggies in :-)
  • Yesterday, lots of wine but not too bad with food. Today? No booze at all, but food, not so great. I Really need to get back to journaling. I'm going to try to do that tomorrow!
  • Now THIS is a group I can relate too! I know that alcohol has been a hindrance in my weightloss, but I really enjoy it and I dont want to give it up!!! I will admit that I feel better when I drink less, especially since I have to get up at 3 a.m. for my job. I try to say "only on weekends" but my weekend is wed/thurs and…
  • I agree with Chrissy. Picture a pound of brick and a pound of feathers. Both weigh a pound, but the feathers take up much more space!
  • This is like therapy!! :-) Confessions: I take one day off a week. It isn't always the same day, and I don't go absolutely crazy, and it's usually afternoon (meaning I stay on track for breakfast and lunch and then don't worry about it). I don't always log my non starchy veggies. I'm a WW vet, so it's still hard for me to…
  • I missed the part where it said FREEZE the watermelon and asked a question about ice. Can't figure out how to delete it, so NEVERMIND :-)
  • Sounds good to me!!!

  • Welcome! I haven't been doing this for very long, but I agree with you. It's very eye opening! Best of luck to you!
  • I just poke it all the way around in a cirlce from stem to bottom. Then I put it in the microwave for five minutes, turn it over, then five minutes more. Yes, it's hot to handle, but cooks just fine!
  • It used to be really hard for me to drink water too. Now I hardly drink anything else! My trick used to be to sprinkle just a little Crystal Light in it. It doesn't take much to give it good flavor! Always keep a water bottle with you if possible. You will find yourself drinking from it absent mindedly!

  • Ruth, I just joined this site. I had never heard about it until today, and yours was the first post I saw. I, too, am 42 and have about the same amount to lose! I was so excited to read your post and all of the replies. I can't tell you how many diets I've been on in the past, with varying degrees of success. I'm really…
