  • you could wear a HR monitor and blu tooth it to your phone...use an app like underarmor, strava, etc. Fairly accurate. Or, figure your average HR X number of minutes exercised X .086 = calories burned. Has nothing to do with "assistance"...concrete vs trampoline. Has everything to do with heart rate to figure calorie burn.
  • I'm with Seth1825. You should get and track measurements and bodyfat...and keep a record. Occassionally going thru the data to see where you were and where you've gone. Body weight is an indicator but not a great one unless your really overweight and looking to just loose weight. At 6' i'm hitting 235lbs but still look…
  • All those things are just guides. I used to use map my walk to judge my bike rides. Sometimes it would say I burned an exorbitant amount of calories. After talking to folks here I went out and got a heart rate monitor to figure how many calories I was burning. A better method but there are still better methods out there if…
  • You musta been in the chair force...hair force...air farce...oh you know what I mean:)
  • I'm with cgvet...30-60 min. I got *kitten* to do besides the gym!:) seriously though, if u attack it with 100% intensity you shouldn't be able to last much longer than 60...with certain exceptions.
  • I used to watch dancers interview and practice in Vegas. Sure, there's some strength involved but there's a lot technique too. Any type of fitness will help. And, obviously the lighter and stronger you are makes pole dancing that much easier...just like in gymnastics. If possible, join a class or get with someone that has…
  • My vote...Weights and cardio. Wanna loose body fat but not appear "skinny fat." Weight training to maintain/increase lean muscle mass. Cardiovascular to burn bodyfat.
  • I agree with everybody above. BCAA aren't needed. Especially since if u take a protein supp they're already added into the protein. Some essential aminos can't be processed by the body without bcaas. But like I said, they're usually already added into a protein supp. Eating right is Def the best way to go. There's a reason…
  • Just because they don't jut straight out like Pam Anderson doesn't mean a flawed female form. I'd stay away from the lift unless u had a real reason to do it. If you choose to lift then by all means that's your choice but don't try to fit the marketing mold of a perfect set of girls. But if you're gonna do it regardless,…
  • Depends on what ur doing in them. Very thin soul sneaks are good for the gym. Running shoes for weightlifting compress to much leading to problems. Innov8 or altra are great cross country runners. New balance minimus are good too. All the mentioned shoes are zero drop too. Take some getting used to if uve never used em.…

  • Keep in mind that there many things "living" in the gym. I've had friends get serious infections from gym equipment as well as bad fungal stuff from the showers/bathroom areas. And these were nice gyms. Anymore gyms are like hospitals with lots of problems for the unsuspecting. Be careful.
  • Baby wipes!:)LOL
  • I think Rome nailed it. There's to many variables plus it's dependant on each body which is different as well
  • In a word, or two...BABY WIPES!!:)LOL. On the move like that it's a huge luxury item!!! I wouldn't say it'd be an easy undertaking but totally doable! The biggest problem is the logistics...i.e. food, water, cloths, tent, defensive item (s), navigational items, etc. And all that is based on the number of days you'll be out…
  • I feel sore if I don't workout too. Have no idea why this is. One of the reasons I workout is to not feel pain or stiffness in different spots.
  • Sounds like to many MG of supertest!!:)LMAO. J/K
  • A lot of people get "clicking" in their elbows, wrists and shoulders. Actually, any joint can "click." If u r experiencing pain stop! If there were something wrong u probably couldn't overcome the pain involved. However, sometimes joints "clicking" can be a precursor to an injury. The clicking could be from a lot of…
  • I used to make packets of honey & PB for playing hockey. I realize it's a totally different type of burn (hockey) but it helped a lot! I could play almost 3 games as long as I kept the fuel goin. Without PB&honey...maybe 2 games but totally gassed! You can also take a simple carb supp. Mixes with water and is almost…
  • Depends on ur body and what u do. I do 3 heavy gym days a week of the basics (squat, deads, miles press, bench pullups) then 3 other days of outside activity. Nutrition is key no matter what program ur on. For me if I'm in the gym to much I get bored, plateau or start tearing up joints. I really enjoy tactical strength…
  • How bout functional strength training? Look at the website strength 1st. Tactical strength training is good too! They're not quite like crossfit but they do increase strength (and mass if desired) while increasing cardiovascular ability.
  • I recently read a national article saying fit it isn't accurate. I don't use one myself so I can't vouch for the story. Do your research b4 you buy!
  • Got it NC! Thanks for the info. I'm Def gonna invest some money in a power meter and HR monitor and see what I come up with!
  • This is all good...and forced me to do some reading. Most websites on the topic have 2 consensus. 1. There are to many variables in biking to accurately give a definitive answer. 2. To gain weight eat more, to loose eat less. Doesn't get any simpler than that. At livestrong and bicycling.Com I plugged my info in and they…
  • What branch are u going to? Big difference in the 4 branches. I spent 12 years in the Marines.

  • You shouldn't be holding your breath at all during a lift. Exhale on the exertion portion, inhale deeply on the reset. I flew the vomit comet (zero gravity). Before the flight the flight surgeon said that blacking out in most all activities was a result of lack of oxygen to the brain. Unless of course there was actual…
  • So that's why I get funny looks at organized bike rides!!! Most folks haven't seen circus animals on bikes before!!! LMAO
  • Deadlifts are more complex than most people think. They involve a lot of muscle groups. I know a nationally ranked powerlifter. He'll actually get sick and vomit from the exertion sometimes. Getting winded is normal even with good breathing technique. If you can sustain your energy throughout your workout maybe do them…
  • I hear you guys! Not to take the convo away from Cinflo...my apologies. Today I rode 30 miles at a 20mph average on rolling hills. I ran Strava, map my walk and ride GPS all in parallel on my phone. At the end of the run they all guesstimated I burned just shy of 3000cal. I've eaten right up to my plan of 3000cal but…
  • I see what you guys are saying. I guess i dont use MFP as it was meant to be used. In my situation it's nearly impossible to eat back the calories. I have to go to a weekly average type system as mentioned by Christine72. Keep in mind all of my numbers are strictly educated guesses as I do not have the equipment to…
  • Gloves may actually improve grip strength due to the fact your grip won't slip as much. I think calluses are a fact of life but for me gloves seem to lesson them. Witch hazel will soften calluses for shaving/removal. Stinks but it works. Don't use lifting straps as ur arm strength will suffer in the long run. I'm not…
