I am aiming to workout 4x per week,40 minutes.Is it enough to get fit again.

    The length of your workout is not important as what you are doing during said workout.

    Yup.

    I do 4-5 workouts a week, maybe 6 at a push. 45-60 minutes each, sometimes a little less but they are intense and non-stop.

    Quality over quantity. I exercise 30-60 minutes depending on what I'm doing.

    I'm with cgvet...30-60 min. I got *kitten* to do besides the gym!:) seriously though, if u attack it with 100% intensity you shouldn't be able to last much longer than 60...with certain exceptions.
