  • You need to see a GP and get referred to an endocrinology specialist. Sounds like hypothalamic ammenhorea could be a possibility and you need expert advice. Please take this seriously, it's so important xx
  • I have been running for 4 years, started with c25k like you (best app ever!) and I have never taken any notice of my HR. I have always thought it would turn it into a 'chore' Running itself is an accomplishment, especially if like me you had no aptitude for sports growing up. Celebrate your achievements in completing each…
  • I have a Garmin and I find that it gives me a calorie burn somewhere in the middle of their lowest/highest estimate. I am 47, no longer overweight and I run/workout every day. I think my Garmin is probably quite accurate.
  • The nurse administering my flu vaccination said I obviously exercised as my upper arms are so well defined and apologised for any pain he caused. Two years ago the same nurse did the vaccination and had to put it in the top of my leg as my arms were so thin and stringy x
  • I am another Keppra taker, my neurologist has suggested we consider titrating my dose down with a view to being off meds completely eventually as I have been seizure free for 8 years. I am willing to do this under medical supervision as I agree, keppra is not the nicest drug (keppra rage is real, and the runny nose!) I…
  • Some great hiit workouts on fitness blender. 30 mins that really make you sweat and feel like you have worked out. The demos are really clear too. X
  • Thankyou so much for taking the time to reply. My logical brain knows there is no way I have eaten 7k+ above maintenance but the 'I used to be 5 stone heavier' part of my brain has spun off it's axis! I have to let my body do it's job, frustrating as it is! X
  • I have only been running for about 2 years but was advised to do a gentle recovery run after a long run. I did a half marathon today, so planning on a gentle 4 -5 miles tomorrow x
  • It's not always easy but it's as much as a habit now as getting dressed or cleaning my teeth. It just feels like something important that I should do for me. I plan in advance around mine and my husband's shifts and make no apologies about carving out an hour or so 4-5 times a week to run/circuit train. I joined a running…
  • Hi, I am in Liverpool. I only started running last summer, done a few 5ks, 10ks and 2 HMs s8nce then. Not actually training for anything atm but still running anything from 5-10 k four days a week. There's a HM in Sept I have my eye on but I am enjoying running for pleasure at the moment. Xx
  • I try to stay below 100g of carbs, so not truly low carb. Aldi do butternut squash noodles and cauliflower rice, cheaper than Sainsbury's and lovely. X
  • Thankyou so much everyone. I was up and out and 7am and aimed for 5k. It wasn't the easiest run but, not the hardest either. I am 44 and have always considered myself completely unsporty and unfit so the fact that I can run at all still astounds me! I only completed C25K because my sisters entered us all in a charity 5k…
  • Thanks everyone! I had chilli king prawn , with a spoonful of boiled rice! Was lovely! So pround of myself for ignoring the prawn crackers/ chips etc! Proves I can still socialiose without ruining my diet completely! xx
  • My kids love F & B's so I eat there about once a month. I tend to stick to the pasta arrabiata or the stcky salads. Are you in the UK? I think the calories are online now, and there is a newer menu with better options on. It's hard with my friends too, he get a bit frrustrated with me at times. I tend to join in ordering a…
  • Thankyou so much for all those suggestions. As I am in the UK unfortunately there are no 'light' versions of any of the meals, so i am just going to make the best of what is on offer ;-) Some really good ideas though. Chicken and ginger/spring onion is looking quite favourable at the moment. I can't be too fussy as we…
