  • I'm with you! Just gotta keep getting back up...with enough perseverance eventually we won't "fall" as often or as hard!
  • Geez...blast her already because she mentioned having a deadline for a portion of her weight loss. 20 lbs by September is WAY more reasonable than I've seen some people aim for (the ones who are in it for a quick fix). I don't think there's anything wrong with setting goals on a realistic timeline. Just remember to be…
  • I think this wins weirdest combination (and possibly profile pic too!)
  • not too weird but guacamole on hard boiled eggs (sprinkle a little lemon pepper on top...SOOOO good!) Also, some people put hard boiled eggs in salad but I LOVE a good fried egg over a salad (also sprinkled with lemon pepper). The runny yolk is a plus.
  • TOTALLY agree with this. Hubby and I met online and it clicked immediately. He definitely wasn't what I ever expected to end up with physically (about 4 inches shorter than I am, and I was always into dark hair dark eyes while he is VERY blonde and VERY blue eyed). He made me laugh though and that was that. While I agree…
  • Thank you, I totally agree. Some people have legitimate issues with moderating. I was just telling my husband about moderation today after he refused to eat a couple peanut butter crackers, then he finally just told me "look, I CAN'T just eat in moderation right now" - and I get it. I struggle too, it's why I'm here. You…
  • yes!! I just did Chapter 4 this morning...I LOVE IT! It's like crazy simple the things she says but when you read them it just kind of clicks. Do you have the 60 day devotional? I know they coincide but I was doing the book a chapter a day then going to do the 60 day devo after that so it would last longer lol...Are you…
  • You are absolutely beautiful!!! At first I was thinking "well maybe the weightloss made her look older" (it did for my dad but he lost a TON of weight VERY quickly with surgery) but then I saw your pics and I'm baffled by what your family said! You look younger and SO healthy!!! I have no clue why your family would say…
  • Not knocking it, I haven't tried it and really know nothing about it but if I ever had the slightest bit of interest in it (which I haven't), this TOTALLY turned me off: I'm following quite a few people and their transformations on facebook and one of them found her before/after pics were stolen and being used to advertise…
  • me too!!! (I'm stalking you, Tatyana! I saw your post on here and checked out the book and now I want in!! I bought it on my nook and am ready!!)
  • Did I miss something? I thought she said she works and puts her child in daycare? Where did she say she is surviving on the bare minimum, has all those things you listed, and lives off of your tax dollars?
  • Just my two cents, I'm not on assistance and am quite aware of the problems with it. It frustrates me when people feel entitled and take advantage of the system. BUT...the job I was talking about in my previous comment paid about $13/hour and I bought home EXACTLY enough to pay for my two daughters to go to daycare. Not…
  • Okay the only problem with your statement is saying that everything a SAHM does in 8-10 hours, you do in a couple of hours. Not saying either is better than the other, but you pay your childcare provider to DO something that you aren't able to do while you're working (taking care of your child). Hopefully that includes…
  • THIS! I've been both. I'm currently a SAHM and have been for over two years now. The first year I also owned an at home daycare. We are now overseas, so I'm "just" a SAHM now until we go back to the states where I can have my daycare again. I had a friend in college tell me that women who want to be SAHMs lacked ambition…
  • 5'11'' here - I started at 318 and am down to 266 with an ultimate goal of ....somewhere in the 100s, lol. The smallest I ever remember being was when I was 14 and I weighed around 180-190...so I have NO CLUE what that'll look like on me now, especially after 2 kids. I'm thinking around 175-180 but I definitely want to be…
  • AWESOME job!!! What a great way to start off the new year!!! :drinker:
  • _______________________________________ Thank you so much for the great response!!! We've received a TON of messages and are in the process of filling up the last spots with those who have shown interest. After this section we are definitely full. If you got a message in before this, you have been placed on the list and…
  • Glad to see so many interested people!!! I lead another one of the teams in our challenge. Here's some more info: We are a Biggest Loser competition - MFP style! We had a successful "Season 1" back in October 2012 and decided to give it a go for "Season 2". HOLY GUACAMOLE! SEASON 2 SHOWED UP!!!! Our teams were way stronger…
  • am I the only one who read this? or am I reading it wrong?
  • that's AWESOME progress in just a month!!!! Way to go!!! :drinker: It took me over a year to lose 50 lbs, when I had hoped to be at goal within a year. I wouldn't go back and do it any differently though because I've learned so much and it's become my lifestyle. I have no fear of gaining it back when I hit my goal because…
  • I JUST told my hubby that the other day. We've been married 6 years this coming Sunday and have two daughters, 3 and (almost) 5. I told him once the girls have taught him a thing or two maybe God will give us a boy but if he doesn't shape up the next will probably be another girl.
  • I agree with EVERYTHING above!!! I've struggled my entire life with my weight too and I've lost weight, then gained some back, lost more, then gained even more back, until I hit 318 a couple years ago. This time around has been totally different, A LOT slower than I ever hoped or planned for, but I am developing habits…
  • AWESOME!!! Seriously, what's up with gym teachers? I had one of those in middle school too...I was really struggling during our mile test and after I came in (close to last) she yelled at me in front of everyone that if I weren't so overweight I would be able to keep up. :ohwell: I'm currently on my second round of Week 4…
  • I'm with ya, girl!!! I'm 28, stay at home mom of 2, with about 90-95 more lbs to lose! :)
  • You are CRAZY awesome, lady! I knew there was SOME reason why I friended you!
  • 5'11'' here! there's also a great group called Totally Tall Women of MFP and another called Tall Women: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/90-totally-tall-women-of-mfp http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/109-tall-women and some great threads that have been started in the past too with really motivating…
  • Ahhh, should've thought to snopes it real quick. Thanks!!! The molecule thing was the only part that I was like "okay bs" because a lot of things are only one molecule off from being something poisonous or toxic and are harmless. I think I'll still stick with butter though. :)
  • That's funny that you posted this. I recently saw this posted on facebook and wondered how much of it was true. I'll have to research it later...
  • You look great!!!!
  • No, you're right. I wanted to cry when I told me I was 7.5% larger than I thought I was. I'm 5'11'' and have very low self esteem but I KNOW I don't look like what it told me I look like.
