  • nettle tea helps, but it's revolting. i normally just try and stay away from scales, tight clothes and annoying human beings until afterwards!
  • exactly! the good old days when people stayed in miserable marriages long after they were over because they had no other option.
  • because i like it. though if you tell people that when they ask you they assume you are lying!
  • i do 500 cals on mondays and wednesdays, and eat around 1400-1600 on all other days. i've found it really easy. i still manage a 45 minute body attack class on my "fasting" days as well as normal exercise on all other days. i've actually noticed that i seem to have more energy at the gym on fasting days. i don't lose…
  • me too. i only drink socially so dont think of myself as having a problem, but increasingly i've realised every time i go out it becomes a binge, and i wake up shameful and hungover. i went out on friday and was so hungover on saturday that i missed the gym and lunch with my friends, so ended up alone all weekend, feeling…
  • ex colleague used to eat cereal at his desk opposite me, with his mouth open. took all my strength not to beat him to death with his bowl. and my old flatmate used to eat apples really quickly without swallowing between bites, OH GOD that was annoying. i hate the sound of liquid pouring into a glass on TV ads. especially…
  • i also put on weight when training for a marathon. i couldn't run those distances without eating more! so much for imagining myself crossing that finish line all lithe and fit-looking. but i had to thank my body for getting me there, so i didn't mind. i'd rather have that extra half a stone and be able to say i'd done a…
  • i do body attack and i love it - but i keep getting injured! it can be quite brutal so take it slowly, especially at first. due to my latest injury i haven't been for a few weeks, but will be back on it soon and trying it out with my new heart rate monitor. if this has any relevance at all i would say it feels the same…
  • i'm 5.7 and weigh 145 - my HRM gave me 478 calories burned in a 40 min spin class last night. hope that helps xx
  • it's water retention so you don't need to worry. i can put on about 5lbs of water - and then i lose it at the end. can normally tell as i start needing to wee all the time! it's an annoyance but it will go by itself.
  • i have a great FWB - been five years. there are times when one or the other of us is unavailable for a few months bedroom-wise, if we date someone else, but we stay friends and then pick up where we left off. we are both careful of each others' feelings. it works for us - a relationship wouldn't as we are very different…
  • monday - spin + pilates tuesday - body pump + spin wednesday - rest (sometimes body attack) thursday - body pump friday - circuits or spin saturday - body pump sunday - rest
  • i log body pump as strength training under cardiovascular exercise. it comes up at about 180 cals for an hour.
  • do something gentle. i recently did a body attack class the day after a particularly hard session with my trainer - i landed strangely to avoid hurting my thighs any more (they were really sore) and now i've damaged my foot. and have to see a physio. just do some swimming or pilates or something.
  • i'm on a strict budget at the moment. i make a giant vegetable soup every weekend - normally some kind of variation of butternut squash, red lentils, carrots etc, then eat that all week. freeze some and just keep it in the fridge. then i have eggs and nuts for protein. it can be done - you just have to plan a little bit…
  • fasolada is a wonderful greek bean stew http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/7479/fasolada.aspx i add some cinnamon too
  • vodka and gin with slimline tonic are pretty low cal and on their own wouldn't make much of a difference weightwise. the only problem is that once you're a bit tipsy (or drunk!) your diet will go out the window. does with me anyway. i start feeling that i don't need to lose that half a stone, and reach for the cheese and…

  • i can weigh up to 4lbs more at that time of the month - it's all water retention. i've stopped weighing myself a couple of days before my period as it's always so depressing. i find towards the end of my period i wee loads, and then i'm back to normal! don't worry about it!
