Good for both you and your sister! ...and congratulations on the wedding and your new nephew!

Pilates and watching my diet helped me lose 30 lbs (still trying to lose the other 30!). I really enjoy it and encourage you to try it.

Joy Bauer, the nutritionist for the Today Show, was just giving a married couple advice about this. She said pretty much what others are saying here. She advised that the husband can put advocado, croutons and creamy dressing on his salads. He can eat big portions of trail mix. He can have 2% milk and he can eat a double…

thanks for sharing, I will definitely try this with my boyfriend!

I also use the "quick add calories" feature...right next to the box that you type in when searching for a food. So what I'll do is google the item, get a few different sources, pick the one with highest or second highest calorie count and just quick add the calories.

well said...let's be open and help each other. Encouragement with friendly advice is the right way to go!

I know what you mean, I have seen people get verbally shredded for eating processed food (and when one person did this, I looked at her food diary and she had not even logged anything for the past week!) and light frozen dinners. This is a place of support and should remain so. Besides, I personally think that if you are…

I whole-heartedly agree with making one's food diary public. Not only does it help other members by giving good ideas, but it has also made me more accountable knowing that my friends are going to look at what I ate. And, as Dan says, if you are not sure why your meal plans aren't working for you, there are a lot of…

Zone bars are pretty good. They are crunchy instead of chewy, which I like. The mint chocolate is my favorite.

That must be for just the cereal. I would count the cereal and your milk seperately. On the subject, you should try mixing your grape nuts with yogurt. I love the crunchy with the creamy.

It is sad news to be sure, but if you continue on this path of getting healthy you will eventually be off the medication. My dad was on diabetes meds for about year but he was able to lose the necessary weight and now he is off of them! It is a goal YOU can accomplish. 12 lbs in 51 days is stellar; your doctor is probably…

We all fall off from time to time. My best advice to get the most out of this site is to track your food daily (I know this sounds like a no brainer but it can be challenging to find the time to record your food everyday but it's really a must in my book) and also make lots of friends. The more support, the better. We are…

My best advice for getting the most out of MFP - make friends! The support here is so great and when you have people cheering you on, it makes you want to go hard. Also, I advise making your food diary public. When I know people might be watching me, I do better  WELCOME, WE'RE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!!

You are not missing anything with White Castle!

No, I would not count them. I walk to work everyday, but I don't count that in my diary. I don't eat my exercise calories unless I'm hungry.

Sometimes I like her, sometimes she rubs me the wrong way but I've always felt she is 100% dedicated to health and fitness and helping others. That's a great way to make a living.

I used to be very anti-cheese but if you go with a low fat option it's not too bad. You get the vitamin D and the calcium too which is great for us gals.

try adding some beans to your diet. Yesterday I made a chili burrito. You can look at my food diary for the ingredients, cook the onions and peppers in the olive oil, once tender add teaspoon of cumin, chile powder and italian seasoning, sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, mix it up and add beans and tomato sauce. Put it on…

I love fiber one bars, but yes they are not that great because of all the sugar. I like reduced fat string cheese. Most brands are around 70 calories. And of course the basics like fruit and vegetables. I like to drizzle olive oil and sprinkle garlic salt on tomatoes, YUM :)

hmmmm, I think that sometimes people who say things like "you are overtraining" are secret sabotagers...if this particular fella is humping at your leg it could be that he wants you to spend less time at the gym and more time with him, so he came up with this "overtraining" nonsense. And I'm sure you are seeing awesome…

I drink organic skim milk. I read on health.com and confirmed by Dr. Gupta on CNN and that milk and apples are two things that are worth the extra money to buy organic.

Yeah, that 55 calorie one is NASTY. It starts off with no taste and then the aftertaste is just weird and gross. I can't even describe it. I like to just get patron on the rocks with extra lime.

I've never had the Taco Bell Fresco menu but I like Chipotle once in a while. I get the three tacos on soft corn tortillas, chicken, no cheese or guacamole but it still tastes great with the corn salsa and lettuce. Plus I feel like Chipotle is a lot fresher and "cleaner" They use local produce when possible and they cook…

You know it! Thanks everyone for your input, much appreciated.

I just bought a 10-bar box of the fiber one bars and I didn't realize the sugar content was so high. That's one of the reasons I was thinking of skipping that one...Someone else was saying to eat everything but that...I also have a 60 calorie no sugar pudding cup in the fridge but I think that will offer me the least…

that's the one that makes you have only four periods a year. that's not natural...

I did the EXACT same thing. Now I'm back and going hard and I've already seen results. I feel so much better already and I'm so glad I started again...welcome back girl :drinker:
