This is so true! I'm also part of a male heavy friend group and eating and drinking are how they bond. I finally had to pace mysf and listen to my body more. Turns out, they don't really notice.

I love all the support here!! I'm in a similar boat as you ladies, currently at 138, 5'2 and looking to down to 120. I'm not obese but trying live an active life style so pizza and genetics don't win! I enjoy having people on a similar journey to talk to, please feel free to add me!

Jillian kicks my butt! I'm in! I love having people who are doing similar workouts that I can discuss it with!

I'm currently 138 and 5'3 and my calories were set to 1200 a day when I started lifting. I found that was not enough and was famished/weak after work outs. I bumped my goal to one pond a week lost resulting in my limit going up to almost 1400. I find this seems appropriate, I just make sure to save enough calories (it's…

That's amazing! Keep it up and forget any comments that are less than encouraging

I need the kick in the butt! Let's do this! I am super excited! I try and get to the gym daily: lots of cardio but the strength training is a mystery to me. I try my best but I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly! Anyway, Spring backpacking will be upon us and it'd be nice to carry ten less pounds.

Love all the suggestions for Zombies, Run! That is on my "to-do" list! If you're all about reading, you can cycle while you do that or as someone else suggested, set a timer to go be active for a little while during a sedentary activity. I dance a lot while I clean my house to burn more calories and tone my obliques!

Starting at the top seems to be helping:)

I've been on here for a wee bit and you ladies have helped with my lack of motivation!

I love cheese but have found that changing how I eat it helps. Swiss cheese from the deli is under 100 calories and the Sargento Thins are 70 calories a slice. I also keep low fat string cheese on hand. I make sure to buy the reduced fat varieties for nachos and other yummy things. Truthfully, I cut cheese out of recipes…

Beer is my downfall come Friday nights. My advice for fitting in beer and still losing: being under your calories during the week. If you're a Microbrew fan like myself, having water with the beer helps me drink it slower. Also, Guinness is roughly 140 calories (as opposed to 220ish of other brews), avoid bar food if…

If you spot that blue box, you'll have to fight me for it :)

Excellent suggestions! I was hoping to get away with buying them online but a trip to Old Navy and then maybe REI or another sporting goods store seems to be where I'm heading. Thanks for the advice!

I'm 5'2 and at 133lb now but 120 is my goal. I'm just not sure what to do beyond cardio, any tips on how to shake off these pesky 10 (+3) pounds?

Haha, How do you log the sex calories burned?

Excellent! I'll look into those!

Hello! My name is Courtney and I'm originally a buckeye who now inhabits the East Coast. My superpower is wrangling teeny humans (preschool teacher) and persuading people I understand the geography of the Eastern Seaboard.

Thanks for the tip!

Sending lots of good juju! Goodness knows we all need it sometimes!

I'm still new to using the forums (I was an avid app user) but a little encouragement seems nice. I love animals (currently just housing 2 chinchillas) but I'm a college student, working on my Master's in Early Childhood education. I get all the craziness on fitting in hiking and backpacking with a course load! If you want…

That is excellent work!

HI Lyndey! I think that's a great goal: wanting to get healthier. I think this website helps and having people to talk to about it is excellent as well. I too tend to snack when bored or when food is in front of me! But drinking water instead sometimes helps. Do you have any other goals in mind?
