  • It's so individual. Bodies are very different but I would say in my personal opinion I would stay right there and start focusing on putting on muscle. If you keep losing weight you will eventually see some muscle- think abs on super skinny kids- but I don't think ultra thin is what you are going for... unless it is... I…
  • I am just speaking from my own experience. I used to be an avid runner. I have completed a LOT of half marathons and races over the years. At the peak of my running about 10 years ago, I ran a half marathon 4 times a year with running anywhere from 60-100 miles per week. I weighed FAR less than I do now, and my body type…
  • I feel you! I am in a similar boat losing again- but I go much slower. In terms of calorie cutting I personally can't be at that much of a deficit and be a nice human. LOL! (true though) Some days I am- but not purposely so and rarely since I eat every few hours. Like you I love feeling strong and lifting weights. Its more…
  • I have a sweet tooth too and ALWAYS have on hand the caramel rice cakes and apple cinnamon rice cakes. They are a sweet treat alone but I love to top them with PB powder or a little almond butter, or sugar free jam and berries. Or all of the above! I also love berries (all kinds) with cool whip. Sugar free jello or pudding…
  • I would definitely not increase calories. .2 pounds is really nothing considering water and food waste. You might have had a 1.2 drop without the cheat. Don't overthink your way out of weight loss. You seem to have a good handle on it. Trust the process and keep your deficit. If you increase calories again and have even a…
  • Why not keep your walking and add some toning like Pilates or Yoga. It's more gentle on your body while achieving a toned look - and muscle burns fat, plus it looks good! Have you tried bands? You can order some different sizes and do arms, back, even leg workouts using bands that help tone you, then keep a walk or…
  • You can't. I hate to be the bearer of bad news- but pick one. Gain muscle or lose weight. Do one, then the other. If you have a decent amount of muscle then as you lose weight you will start to "see it" more. Adversely, think of how many people lose weight and look "skinny fat"- you know what I am talking about. Looking at…
  • For me the moments come and go frequently. My weight loss/ body comp journey has been a rollercoaster. I am not one of those who had one "ah-ha" moment and "got it right" from then on, suddenly loving lean meats, veggies, and all things health. I have many "whys" but they never exactly correlated with 100% success in…
  • I have always been taught that you are either A) GAINING muscle OR B) Losing weight. There is no really effective way to do both. Personally my experience has been to aim to lose weight first- but DO incorporate weight training into the weight loss. Weight loss is all about diet, so eat less, but do lift as well as cardio.…
  • I feel really good around 180 and I am 5'11 too. Last body fat dunk test I was 176 and only 21% body fat jeans/ dress pants size 4/6 . Part of me would like to get lower than that again. My thinnest was 156 over 10 years ago but I was an avid half marathoner and my body was not tone or strong, and I like the way it looks…
  • Classico makes a light one I just found at the grocery outlet and tried last night. Yum with a lil fresh parm. It isn't as thick but taste is on point and only 40 calories per serving
  • If you like onions I first will grill onions in tiny pieces until they are clear, then put in a bowl, then brown the turkey meat and season with Italian seasoning, then mix in with onions and eat with whatever, like rice or veg side. I also make this the same way with pasta sauce and put over broccoli and it's DEEEEELISH.…
  • Amazing advice. Thank you all so much. I think spending a lot of time with loved ones and just letting it run it's course is what I have to do. I definitely know I made mistakes, but I always owned up to them and severely apologized if I hurt his feelings or said something in a moment of heated anger/bad mood. I definitely…
  • I have been doing the prepping on Sunday thing lately (just these past two weeks) where I grilled a load of chicken for the week and roasted some veggies. I baked a few sweet potatoes and done. Today I am having lunch with my Dad so I am breaking the routine but that's okay every now and then as a treat. Before this I…
  • I would love to. Not to sound conceited, but I never have. I think that I am threatened by men who are "considerably more" intelligent/very attractive/financially successful and don't pursue them or think they are going to pass me up after a week of dating for someone better. Lame!
  • Thank you everyone for the kind words!
  • Thanks everyone! What a funny group- you all had me laughing! I will go out. Responsibly like the nerd that I am! :) I love the new duvet idea or painting a room. Although I have the worst nesting skills so I probably wont be painting. I definitely want to keep things cordial and not the type to start drama- so I won't be…
  • He sounds like an idiot who doesn't appreciate what he has. A man who wants to keep you in his life and keep you happy would never behave that way. Douchebagerie is agreed.
  • Newtons Lady Isaacs Are My Fav To Date.Asics Come In 2ND- The Gel Kayanos.
  • It could be the beer. For me the math doesn't always make sense. I work out like a beast. I love it so that is never an issue- but for example this past week I had a total of 8-9? beers I want to say- perhaps more. I don't normally drink beer. I am up one pound. I was well within my calorie counts if not under due to…
  • What an awesome story. You look great!! Can't believe you got there doing mostly lifting! So inspiring.
  • Not at all! I was a fit fat (what I used to call myself) person for a long time and could outrun skinny girls any day LOL... As long as you feel able- do it.
  • I was there too. Right now just get moving. Cardio is your best activity because that is what will get you results on the scale which helps keep you motivated. Of course if you like weights adding those too is great. Do you feel comfortable walking around your neighborhood? Or can you afford something like a used treadmill…
  • THOR...mmm- this should be every guys template...LOL
  • I've been on depo for a long time. I did it for four years, then stopped a year, then went back on it again last year. The first couple months are irregular as far as your period goes, for me after the first two months it pretty much went away. Its super light if even noticeable at all. I have gained and lost weight while…
  • Eating "healthy" has always been my challenge. I lost pretty much all my weight eating what I want just a little. Adding protein shakes has been a saving grace since they fill me up so I don't eat junk. I get the premade ones so its convenient. My goal is to be a better cook and eat well for my health but really I'm an…
  • All the time- the only thing that helps me is getting in the gym. Fixes it right away and after a really good sweat my whole mentality changes.
  • I like to drink too but drinking is usually what impairs my weight loss. I have a hard time limiting myself to one or two- and the calories add up real quick even if you worked out. Another issue is that since I work full time, if I go out to happy hour then that means I skipped my evening workout- so now not only am I not…
  • Yeah. I try to get around 80g per day which is way over according to MFP counts...
  • I'm a huge fan of the "premier" brand premade protein shakes. I get them at Costco and have used them for years. They have 30g of protein and 160 calories. Not much fiber though so you'd have to get that somewhere else. I do love that they're easy to grab and taste great. Specifically chocolate.
