seska422 - thank you very much for the info.

Now I've discovered that I can delete an item or two but I soon come to an item that doesn't even have that delete button. I've emailed MFP about this.

This is odd - I just discovered that when trying to delete an item in "My Foods" that you need to start at the BOTTOM of the list - then the "delete" button will appear. If you start at the top of the list there is no "delete" button. Strange!

I'm not using the MFP app because they are having trouble with it syncing to other devices. I go in through their website and I am primarily using my macBook for everything. I don't see how to delete an item from "My Foods" there.

Hello breadangel, Thank you for your very interesting post. I've often thought I was too old to be losing weight (I am 65) but I soon told myself that is a ridiculous notion. I had two total knee replacements (at separate times, of course) a few years ago and I'm afraid now I'm needing a hip replacement. I've been putting…

animatedbecca, Check About.com They have an area that you can look up quotes. Also, you could Google "quotes" and see what that comes up with. I wish you much luck in conquering your problem.

Iowabelle, Looks like you're from Iowa - so am I! I now live in Reno, Nevada. "Friend" me if you want to, because I weigh 234.5 as of this morning (down 18.5 pounds from when I started MFP in January). Communicating with a fellow Iowan would be nice. Caralyn

Shirley61, I'm in the over-60 group also and find it pretty difficult losing weight - more-so than at a younger age. My numbers haven't moved for awhile and lack of exercise is my problem. I have issues with my hips and I'm afraid I'm looking at hip replacement in the not- too-distant future. Good luck to you......

I'm still here but haven't responded to the thread because I've been such a bad girl! I haven't even weighed myself for a couple weeks because I'm afraid I'll be too discouraged. On the other hand, that would probably be a great motivation for me to "get back in the saddle". I definitely need encouragement, just as I'm…

barbiecat, I would like to get a glitter graphic into an email but right click--->copy only copies the link...... Caralyn

pmjsmom, How did you get the glitter graphics from graphicsgrotto.com into this MFP message and how do you get it into an email? I am pretty computer savvy but can't seem to figure it out...... Caralyn

I've read all the replies above and I agree 100% with everything that everyone has said. You would be very foolish to EVER go back to this selfish, self-centered person because he clearly is interested ONLY in his own welfare. Caralyn

Most of the foods at my local dollar store (The Dollar Tree) cost considerably more than that same item at a grocery store.

My brain just kicked in - "Stay At Home Mom"?

I've seen very inexpensive crock pots at thrift shops.

I am 65 and was told last fall that my thyroid is a little "sluggish", but I'm already on blood pressure and cholesterol medication. I'm trying to do this on my on with the help of MFP. I've lost 17 pounds since January - is that slow or what!? I have serious issues with my hips and some days I can hardly put one foot in…

You might check out your local thrift shops. I bought a balancing scale (like doctor's offices have, except not quite that tall) for $14 at Goodwill. A TOPS group I belonged to several years ago had one and if I remember correctly it cost around $80 - even at that time. I tried a digital scale at one time and it read…

How about the glazed donuts on the top of this page? It seems inappropriate for this website, doesn't it?

It also places it in the "My Topics" so you can readily find it when you want to.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have a slight annoyance with this issue also. The way I was taught to remember the difference between "lose" and "loose" is that "lose" looses one of the "o's", thus emphasizing the meaning of the word "lose". I also agree with the posts below regarding the use of there/their/they're…
