  • I am back at it, I've done keto for 5 years and had tremendous results. Since last May I've had some family issues come up, and have used them to throw my health out the window. Now I feel miserable. I've gained 17 pounds, which is a 13% increase in weight. I'm bloated, and I have gas (tmi?). I just feel mushy. I will be…
  • You've got this figured out, way to go. Thank you for sharing.
  • Let's start with what do you like to eat? What have you tried and been successful with, and what has been the most difficult. Try replacing your snacking with healthy alternatives, and drink water. Lots of water. You've probably heard these things before, but sometimes it helps to be reminded.
  • I'm going for a cheat day a week, or actually a cheat meal/timeframe. It's helped because when I get the urge to eat foods I shouldn't, I'm like "do I waste my cheat day on this, or do I wait and have something I would enjoy more later". I really don't cheat big, well except for the burger and 2 beers the other night, but…
  • Biggest suggestions I have is plan your meals/food, and give it 30 days at least.
  • My Whole30 starts today, as well as my husband. We've done Paleo before, and both felt great but fell off the wagon. Looking forward to feeling my best again.
  • Which fitbit do you have? I've been looking at them and trying to decide what to get. Daughter has Charge HR. I like the size of the Alta but want all the doings of the Blaze or Surge.
  • So what have you tried? What do you like to do? Is it motivation to eat healthy, or to exercise, or just to get moving? Do you have someone you can use as an accountability partner? Do you have a smart phone? The possibilities are endless
  • Maybe you're just finally comfortable in your own skin? I know when I was at my thinnest, I was still not happy. When I later gained and it took looking at pictures of myself to see how bad it was. I've lost 20 since then, but am nowhere near my thinnest. Fact is, I don't want to be. It was too thin, I can see that now.…
  • Welcome back! Slow and steady wins the race, just don't give up.
  • I have lower back and hip issues and started doyogawithme for hips, hamstrings, and lower back. I've done that video for a couple of years and it's helped to relieve pain and open things up. Next I downloaded the daily yoga app, used it on my phone and tablet both, just the free version. Now I've gotten hooked on YouTube…
  • Did that 3 years ago, haven't done it since, but so feel your excitement. It's a great feeling, congratulations!!!

  • I'm in! Starting weight 149.8 :)
  • I've used black cohosh and milk thistle since last spring. Used it long enough for the hot flashes to stop, then stopped taking it. They started again after a couple of months and I took the cohosh and thistle again until they stopped. Seems to be working for me, and I am more than thankful. No more embarrassing moments of…
  • I like to call it "fat coffee", and drink it when I head for the gym in the morning. I'm up at 5:00, gym at 6:00, and eat breakfast around 9 or 10, or sometimes skip the breakfast. I use 1 tbsp unsalted butter and 1 tbsp coconut, some pumpkin pie spice, and blend it with my immersion blender. I've used cocoa powder,…
  • Welcome! I'm 51, 52 in August, and have used MFP off and on for a long time. When I log my food and exercise, I tend to stay on track, most of the time. I use an Endomondo app on my droid to track my walks and it connects to MFP automatically, but when I go to Planet Fitness I have to enter my workout manually. This is a…
  • I've been having them for a couple of years. I'll be 52 in August, and it's been 6 months since my last cycle. Wake up in the middle of the night drenched, and during the day they come on and I feel like I am on fire.
  • Welcome Sharon. Wow! 42 pounds in 6 months is amazing! The biggest thing to remember is don't get discouraged. Walking is huge I think, or whatever cardio you are happy with. I've had back issues as well, so not a lot of jumping around for me. I do some weights at the gym though, 3 times a week, pushing myself as hard as I…
  • New goal for this month would be to get below 140, 3 pounds. I feel like that's asking a lot, as I've been stuck at 141 for the last month, and have been at 142 all week. Had appendectomy on Monday, so exercise has been limited, coupled with being at home all day. I really haven't over done it on the food, but lack of my…
  • Wow!!! You look amazing. Great job hanging in there and not giving up, even when you were not seeing progress.
  • Hi Petra! I check into the group from time to time. Welcome aboard :)
  • Amazing job! You can see the changes everywhere, in your waist, hips, thighs, shoulders, and you can even see your collar bone. You look very healthy, without it being over done. Good for you :)
  • Welcome! One step at a time
  • Shoes have got to be the most important thing you can purchase as we get older. Makes a difference not only in how my feet feel, but the rest of my body as well. Flip flops are a nightmare and I don't even own a pair. My son gave me a pair of Nike Elite socks that were too small for him and I'm amazed at how they make my…
  • She's having a girl :) The due date is the 11th, but due to high blood pressure, my daughter's on "modified bed rest", and it looks like they will induce this Friday. Hope to have Hannah Jo make her appearance by Saturday. I planned on flying out on the 18th to give this new little family some time, but have changed that…

  • Good job Connie! 10 pounds in 2 months is a perfect, steady loss :)
  • " I am restarting this again...Hopefully I can stay on track this time, although I have already made some bad choices today" Whatever you do, don't let today's mistakes take you down. Every day is a new day! Also, just because you eat one unhealthy thing in the morning, that doesn't mean you should just give up for the…
