I am 31 years old and in February I had to have a complete radical hysterectomy, which caused some depression. I had been doing really good with logging my food intake and exercising every day but during my recovery time, I could not be very active and I tended to overeat because of the depression. Hence, I gained weight…

Life DOES get better. I am 31 and have been hypo thyroid for over 2 years now. I see an internist because they think something else is wrong with me to make me gain weight, they are actually leaning towards Cushing's Syndrome, which is a type of cancer of the adrenal glands. You have to stay positive, because a positive…

Chrissi is just a shorter version of my first name, Christina, and what my closest friends and most of my family calls me. Not very imaginative but it works for me so far.........

Does anyone ever feel like "what is the point". I mean, I have done so good in the past two weeks, I am down 10 pounds and am sticking to my eating plan and exercise routine, I don't see a difference but I am proud of myself, and then someone takes my picture and I still look like a beached whale. I know it takes time but…

I was wondering if anybody logged calories burned for doing stuff like grocery shopping, cleaning house, sex, etc.... things you wouldn't normally consider as "exercise". I know that sounds really bad but I heard on tv that these things (especially sex) can burn an enormous amount of calories............

Is it wrong or unhealthy to eat the majority of your calories in one meal? I am from the south so dinner is a BIG deal, and I might eat only 200 calories before dinner but eat 800 calories at dinner. I stay under my daily caloric intake, but I was just curious if it would affect my weight loss by doing it this way. I have…

I feel that way to. I think it is just your body adjusting to fewer calories and not as much sugar and junk food in your body. It does seem to adjust after a couple of weeks, though. Try taking a multi vitamin such as One A Day Weight Smart. It has added ingredients for energy. Your body will adjust, just hang in there.

I am so excited and I just wanted to share with everyone. I have lost 8 pounds in a little over a week, which is what I wanted, about a pound a day. I cut out my sodas, although I do have one occasionally if I have the calories left at night to have one. This site and the people on it are AMAZING and I just want to thank…

I have a stupid question. As you all know from an earlier post, I am a Mt Dew junkie. The past 5 days, I have not drank anything but water, no soda. At the end of the day, if I have calories left over, calories before the one's I gain by exercising, is it wrong to reward myself with one soda as long as I follow it with a…

Does anyone know the nutritional information for ground beef?

I have two small children who are all geared up for Halloween. Every year, they make quite a haul and feel they need to be generous with me. They know that I am a sucker for Tootsie Rolls so they always give me ALL of theirs, and everyone around here loves to give out Tootsie Rolls. Any advice on how to avoid ruining my…

I feel so discouraged. For the past few days, I have gone over my calorie intake by like 200. That is counting the calories I get after working out. I feel like I have no willpower, and my husband is no help, of course not, he is skinny..Why can't I get this right?

I can totally relate to how you feel. I just turned 31 and am 50 pounds overweight. I have tried everything but nothing but healthy eating, regular exercise, and a healthy positive attitude will help. I have even been passed over on job interviews based on my weight, but to step up to the plate and do something to change…

I have been to see the doctor. I have a thyroid condition and take medication daily. I don't work to hard on the eliptical, I can still talk regularly while doing it. My doctor has ok'd me to do regular intense exercise. I feel so discouraged, and everytime I eat or drink something I am not supposed to, such as a soda, I…

I am having a hard time trying to get into the routine of watching what I eat and exercising regularly. I watch what I eat and still end up way over my 1200 calories per day. I run on an eliptical once a day, but I get so winded and wore out so quickly, I am only burning about 115 calories a day. I am a Mt. Dew addict, and…

My weakness is Mountain Dew. I drink at least 6 everyday and that is the worst thing in the world for you. I try so hard to drink water, but it is just so plain.

Hello. I am new to this. I have struggled with my weight for over 5 years now and it has become increasingly harder to stay sane. I look around and see all of these skinny people, and when I look in the mirror I hate what I see. I can't even get a job, because we live in a society where looks are more important than skill.…
