  • Good luck in your journey! I always saw working out as just a bonus for my health. I have yet to get low enough in weight to see a real difference in muscle (but could feel it) I have had roller coaster weight over last several years between pregnancies. My twins (#3&4) are to be our last, so I think that's been more…
  • That's amazing! I'm sure you are feeling better too. Keep up the good work! 🙌
  • Currently in the process of going vegan-ish with wfpb diet in mind. I say "ish" because my family still eats these things, and if it's a matter of going to landfill or getting eat, I may choose to eat. That being said, my hubby is slowly hopping on board and definitely eating much less meat 😁. I'd love to make some friends…
  • I ran my first 2 5k's while pregnant this time around. The first trimester is almost a "freebie" as I like to think. Unfortunately I suffer from HG so I had to give up everything for a while, and have just limited myself to walking when I feel up to it. Your baby should be fine at this point, but definitely talk to your…
  • I see this isn't really active, but I'm here. :) Currently 32 weeks with 2nd baby (3rd pregnancy). I was close to pre-pregnancy weight before finding out I was expecting, but am excited non-the-less. How are you all feeling?
  • Men, in general have faster metabolisms than women. I would stop comparing to others and focus on your own achievements. You've already lost more than what your goal was. 8 weeks would be the equivalent to 16 pounds at a loss of 2 lbs./week. 1200 calories seems on the low side, maybe this is why you feel deprived. I think…
  • Be mindful. The way my OB instructed me was to eat up to 500 more than what I am now. Baby will get the nutrition then I will get the nutrition. As far as working out, keep going only limit my HR to around 120-140. She was okay with me still losing weight slowly as long as baby continues to grow fine, and I stopped feeling…
  • Look up some articles that talk about the math of losing weight. It really helps to understand that to understand why you can't/shouldn't lose weight fast. I wrote a blog about this if you want a start...
  • I work out after work, typically Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. During the day though, you can park your car further away from the building and take the stairs, take a walk throughout the day. I get up about once an hour to stretch and move my legs.
  • Not currently breastfeeding, but he weaned at 14 months, he's 2 now. Feel free to add me. :)
  • you already added me :D
  • I don't know anything about empty nests (mine is 2 years old), but I definitely battle depression. Feel free to add me if you want the encouragement. Also, have you looked into a hobby or volunteering with something you love? It may help you focus less on your children and what you can do to help other. Good Luck on your…
  • I find diet is the majority of the issue for losing weight. You can work on some strength training with weights (or toddlers haha) if you are wanting to build muscle. Good luck to you!

  • We sound like we have similar situations. My little will be 2 at the end of this month, and I was about 177 before getting pregnant. I also had really bad eating habits after I could eat again through pregnancy... I had hyperemesis gravidarum throughout most of my pregnancy, so if I could keep it down, I ate it... anyways…
  • I started again back in November... I am now back to my original starting weight, 36 pounds down... 23 more to go before I hit my lowest weight on mfp. I am on my account daily (at least for the last 155 days). I have found writing blogs to be helpful and make myself accountable; they should be open if you want to take a…
  • Welcome to the community. I can not relate nor give you advice, but I wanted to wish you luck on your journey!
  • Thank for the info @hugzeelaroo.
  • So, I'll ask a weird question... Do you sleep on your belly? Is the mattress soft? If yes to both, then get a new mattress. I know they are pricey, but my husband and I had to due to the mattress screwing my back up. Good luck!
  • If it were me... I would track by day...
  • I find I burn more on the treadmill with my HRM, but it is harder on my knees. I go back and forth between the two pieces of equipment to keep me interested. If you like one over the other, then by all means use it.
  • I'm trying to not let it bring me down, but some days when I look in the mirror, that is all I can see.
  • I think it is just hard to stay motivated when I feel like all my hard work is making my most self-conscious area stand out more. It's not even like one hump If I look down it has 2 peaks with several inches between them and it stands out almost as much as my bust... Thank you for all your responses.
  • I do cardio as well as doing more strength as I go along and focusing more on the abs to maybe tone that area about 4-5x a week. I've lost about 15% of my original weight, and have about 15 lbs to go before reaching my pp weight. I've went down almost 2 pants sizes. I'm not sure how to check fat % to see if that is going…
  • I just feel like it is so noticeable, and it really bugs me.
  • Don't take this the wrong way... Is it possible you could you be pregnant? I know some people who have PCOS who are long into their pregnancy before finding out they're pregnant.
  • I lost 25 lbs before anyone said anything to me. That being said, I feel like more and more people are cautious about saying anything to people afraid to hurt their feelings. For example, if they ask if you have been losing weight, and you hadn't then it might make you feel bad. Do it for you and welcome any compliments…
  • Try to cook to a decent portion size so that you can split into a certain amount of days/meals, or stick it in the freezer for later.
  • I see a jump up every time that lovely tom comes around, otherwise pretty steady downwards unless I've hit a bad few days or high sodium days...
