Hello! I have a similar story - surgery and thyroid problems. Have gained 24lbs since the surgery as hurled into the menopause - i had a total hysterectomy. I was already about 2 stones overweight anyway. So many false starts with weight loss and difficulty staying focused. Really need to make this happen for the sake of…

Hi, i'm 5'1" and weigh 168lbs. My goal is 126lbs. Trying to do this a day at a time - having spent my whole adult life dieting i have finally had a light bulb moment and now thinking 'healthy lifestyle' so i no longer mind a slow loss. I will be 49 in March so have set myself a six month goal to lose the weight and get fit…

Hello, i started the Cambridge Diet 5 days ago. I have had my first weigh-in and 6lbs down!!! I've started on sole source plus a green and white meal. It's not been as hard as i thought it would be but maybe i have finally hit that place where i had simply had enough of being overweight and uncomfortable. I want to lose 4…

i'm 5'1" and my goal is 126lbs or a UK size 12. It should be about what feels right for you and not what anyone else dictates. Good luck

Your post made me smile. I had a TAH in June 2012 after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Thankfully all is well at the moment but i have gained so much weight. This is due to almost no exercise and eating a lot. I'm really watching my calorie intake and am on Day 5 of 30 Day Shred. No weight loss yet but am determined…

Hi i've been logging as circuit training. Runs to 27 mins all together. Just finished day 5 of 30DS and my right knee is still sore. As a large woman this has been great for me and i can already do much more than day 1. Jumping jacks are tough for me. Good luck.

Hi, please count me in. I'm on Day 3 and it would be great to have some company. My knees are sore and i struggle with the jumping jacks but determined to keep going.

Hello, I'm 45 too and have two grown up children living in south-east England. This time this is for me. I want to lose weight but more importantly i want to be healthy and active - fit mind and body. Disappointed at my weight loss to date but so very proud of myself for being consistent with the training over the past…

Good luck. You deserve to be the best you can be for YOU!!!!

Hello, i tried it but suffered from blinding headaches which forced me to give up after a week. I know it works for some people but didn't for me. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Hello and Welcome. I started working from home and all the effort i had put into losing weight a few years ago (although i didn't quite meet my target) was wasted as i gained and gained. I find MFP really helpful especially in moments like now when i'm a little bored and would normally turn to bread for comfort. We can do…

Thank you everyone. I think i'll give them a try - it can't hurt. Lol! I've signed up for a 26 mile charity walk in Oct and need to get my legs as strong as possible. I am exercising but just for general wear these should be some help.

I had this problem but started taking supplements - evening primrose oil, multivitamin and multi mineral , and cod liver oil. Exercising has really helped as i think it's improving my circulation. Hope this helps:smile:

Hello Everyone, I hope i can join this group too. Definitely over 40! and trying hard to get healthy. Need all the motivation and support i can get and willing to support you all too if i can. Dug out some old DVDs and did Susan Powter workout this morning followed by Kettleworx - i'm not the biggest fan of Ryan Shanahan…
-
you look fantastic and i can really see the difference. Keep going.

Hello, i've just started exercising again after months of very little activity. I am using a couple of Susan Powter step DVDs - some people find her annoying but she works for me. You can moderate the exercises to suit your fitness level but i have managed to get through the whole thing and worked up a real sweat. Bought…

Hello Jocelyn, I joined MFP ages ago and then just fell into old habits and stopped focusing on me. I managed to lose 18lbs in 2009 and have put it all back (and some more). So here i am again. I seem to be OK with food - until i get really upset and then head for the bread. Exercise is difficult especially as there isn't…
