Awesome! I remember when I looked over and saw someone beginning to job on the teadmill and all I could do was 3.0 mph. I about cried and never thought that I would ever be able to run - 304lbs. at that time. I started small and built up to jogging, and now run about 20 - 25 miles a week at about 7.0 miles an hour. IT ALL STARTS WITH THAT FIRST MILE!!!!! I'm really excited for you. Keep it up, and enjoy the successes along the way - You'll be an jogging addict soon.0

Jog a 5k (3.1 miles) is next. That one might take me the whole year to achieve..even 1 mile was tough.0

I know you will be doing a 5k by springtime! Have faith! Your cardio fitness level is already there thanks to all that walking you did in 2010, now you just need to let your body make the adjustments to the impact/demand of running. I KNOW you can do it!!! :drinker:0 -
well done! i haven't run since school - a very long time ago. will now include this as one of my goals too - you've inspired me:flowerforyou:0

We'll look back on this with a chuckle after you run your first 1/2 marathon!! You're on your way. Good for you.0

You will be amazed how quickly your body acclimates to running distance. I went from struggling to do a mile to doing 3.1 miles in about 4-5 weeks.
Awesome job, by the way!0 -
