  • With my first, I apologized to the nurses afterwards for cursing like a sailor, including "Get this f-ing thing out of me!" I was much nicer the second time around. :) We'll see how it goes in about 22 weeks!
  • Wow, I normally don't get into discussions and am really upset that so many people attack right off the bat! So many assumptions...how does anyone know that she is intentionally eating low or even how far along?! To the OP - adding chicken would be a great source. Also good fats like nuts and fish are an excellent source.…
  • The menu itself looks ok to me, but the calories appear very much on the low side. Ditto on the eggs with yolk. How far along are you now and where was your weight to start? I am 18 weeks myself and just double checked calorie levels this morning. General rule is no extra calories needed in the first tri, 340 extra in the…
  • Most often, yes, I’m jealous. But then I also consider that they could have a disease (ie: Cystic Fibrosis) or metabolic disorder that prevents them from gaining weight. On the outside of that, my husband can eat whatever and whenever he wants and is a stick! But he has a physically demanding job that keeps him active all…
  • I sure hope that girl comes around again, sees how hot you are now and what she missed out on!
  • My daughter (and oldest child) started kindergarten today and I was concerned about the food sources when we first started realizing the school years were upon us. Then I was ecstatic to talk with the food services director and found out that the school has their own five acre garden! Last year they were serving fresh…
  • 1600-1800 is a normal day, 1600 being on days that I just don't have an appetite. LIke I said, I eat if I'm hungry, just makes me paranoid when I stare down the journal. Last night I even consciously ate dinner beyond feeling full knowing that I needed it with both strength and cardio in the same day plus another double…
  • On a light week I'd say about five hours formal exercise + anywhere from five to ten hours in the barn. The calculator is what has me hung up! It's a lot of hours, but I wouldn't necessarily call it strenuous other than some of the formal workouts. It's just all so frustrating. I've been here before and feel like I should…
  • It really varies. Some workouts I do a lot of trotting, sometimes the colts getting lighter lessons working on technical stuff. Could be loping and rollbacks, etc. It all gets mixed up. I do try to do quite a bit of trotting on my mare that races though.
  • Remarkable inspiration and aspiration. Good luck and thank you!!
  • Well, since I forgot groceries bought during lunch in the fridge at work, back up was taco salads. Baby spinach with seasoned ground chicken, rotel tomatoes, little bit of avocado and cheese with a couple crunched up tortilla chips. Kids even gobbled theirs up with the spinach!
  • Thanks. They did have mats and we even had class outside. It was a fun class...I definitely could benefit from more yoga!
  • The studio isn't answering their phone. And the friends I'm going with are in the same boat as me. We are quite a troop
  • I'm so happy for you that you persisted with the doctors! And you're story is a great example that weight management comes from both sides of the spectrum.
  • Try not to stress. I know what you are feeling! I lost over 50 pounds before having my first then gained 60. But you know what...I got in even BETTER shape after having her than I was pre-pg. If i can do it, you totally can do it.
  • You'll be back down in no time! I've found that my "uh oh" weight gets lower and lower anytime that I lose track/control. Pretty soon we'll all have this down permanently :)
  • Grill. It's the only time of year that my husband asks for lettuce salads, usually with grilled chicken or steak. Or make bunch of pasta ahead of time (or quinoa, rice, etc) and do various cold mix-ins throughout the week.
  • I commute with a 2010 Dodge Caliber. Liked in on the lot/test drive. Hate it now and can't wait until I can replace it! Which is a looooong ways off. My real wheels though is a 2007 Dodge Megacab dually. It's silly how happy I feel driving this truck! Kind of irritating though that most men I feel think I'm driving the…
  • Booze Pizza Mochas Trail Mix Pre-logging is a great tool! And thanks to it, I can enjoy a mexican lunch out at work then pizza and wine for dinner (not a usual menu), but still stay within limits. Just gotta mind the portions and choices!
  • I like both and gotta give credit for Jillian to getting me started on weights in the first place. But I love Chalean and ChaLean Extreme. In fact, I bought P90X earlier this year, but decided to go back to CXT first. It's a great workout, but I really like how Chalean sets you up for each move and explains form throughout.
  • Amazing! Congratulations!!!
  • I was set on being a horse trainer - right up until filling out the college application to my school of choice. Thankfully, I had a flash of reality and realized horses are my hobby, not a career.
  • Interesting info! I go back and forth myself which I've always understood to not be good. Generally, I'm not big on bfast and eat because I think I "have" to. But some days I am overhungry when I get up in the morning and can't wait to get something in my tummy! Then there is today...I didn't feel like getting anything to…
  • Axel and Ari (German Shepherds), Riata and Grizz (Pembroke Corgis). We've also had Cooter, Chevy, Stella, Cammy, Tigh and Hobbs. Not dogs, but for other ideas my horses are Echo, Val and Vinny. Plus Grace, Jimmy and donkey Jose reside with us!
  • #3, for sure and so often one I do not engage! And on that note...I better get off to shower and bed :)
  • If I didn't eat past 7:30, I would only get dinner about once a week! And actually, I'm often too exhausted by then to put much into prepping or eating dinner that I actually eat less. It's when we eat earlier that I snack more later in the evening. I do fully agree on the fat clothes, though. It is what gave me the…
  • I am a barrel racer, rodeo when I can, and past rodeo queen :)
  • Besides the input already stated from previous posters to eat more calories, the single common habit I’ve noticed from observing my friends are slim (and healthy) is that they eat slowly and appear to only eat until they are satisfied. It’s not so much what they eat, but not overeating.
  • I'm more honest when I don't have to worry about judgement. Also, sometimes I'm lazy and will make general entries or will plan something but actually eat different (but the same cal count). I don't track macros, just calories. It's what works for me!
