  • Mine is still a trooper... With breastfeeding my hormones are still at the place where I'm just not into having relations. I wish I were because prebaby I had quite the appetite for being intimate with my husband....but now I just don't feel it these days. He is very understanding and I let him know that it isn't him, that…
  • I got mine from Amazon. They are the Bravado nursing bra http://www.amazon.com/Bravado-Body-Silk-Seamless-Nursing/dp/B000XV7ORI They are amazing. I have 3 of them and I am in them 24/7 (except when working out and showering). Your cervix isn't healed yet and you may get an infection or start bleeding. I couldn't imagine…
  • When one "bad" for you thing is removed (ie. fat) they just replace it with something (usually worse) in its place (ie. sugar, processed junk you can't even pronounce). I'm a true believer that FAT doesn't make people FAT and that it is sugar and processed junk that does. I'd say stick with the most natural versions of…
  • Wowzers! 346 members on this board! That is insanely awesome! I started this group a year ago after I had been posting on another pregnancy board and all the women talked about was eating and how tired they were so they couldn't workout... Oh and every time I posted something personal and needed advice or support nobody…
  • I do Turbo Fire, Insanity, Jillian Micheal's Body Revolution, etc...and these are the bomb! http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-462983/pgid-540701 The Nike Free TR Fit 2 are the best trainers I've ever owned and I've owned a LOT of shoes :)
  • I've read that blog and everything on it is so true (and funny yes!) :)
  • Oh and something else I was thinking about adding to this "things I wish someone would have told me"...make sure to buy several GOOD, COMFORTABLE nursing bras if you are breastfeeding because you will LIVE in your bra (24/7 except when you bathe and workout and in that case I wear TWO sportsbras with nursing pads...awesome…
  • lol! Sometimes we get so proud of ourselves for "figuring it out" that we feel the need to spread the word. I'm sure she means well and just wants to make your transition a bit easier....but thing is that we have to figure it out on our own. Even if that means asking for advice for something we can't quite figure out. :)
  • Actually...I will say that the first two weeks I was like "man...this parenting thing isn't as hard as I thought it would be...I'm not tired at all and I've not slept good in weeks!!!" and then....CRASH! It seemed like my adrenaline was still pumping and when I had no more left I was more tired than I'd ever ever been. And…
  • Remembered another one...I've mentioned this before on previous posts...but I think it worth saying again. If you are nursing most likely you will have raw nipples. "Soothies" were lifesavers and bring them with you to the hospital! When you shower put on the Lanolin cream before getting into the shower. The water from the…
  • A few other things I thought of... It's a bird, it's a plane....it's a HOT FLASH!!!! For the first few weeks at night I would wake up literally drenched in sweat! My hair was wet to the tip! I was SOOOO hot! Oh and then I'd start to freeze cause it was winter...Awesome. Your hormones are all over the place after the baby…
  • Hey ladies! So this post was intended to be a kind of funny truth telling post to all the soon to be mommies of things I wish someone would have told me... It isn't to debate what is better bottle vs breast or disposable vs cloth. I'm sure there are other boards on here for such things. I don't want to offend anyone, but I…
  • I just used the trusty ole disposables ones...but I had considered cloth as well. I hear the G diapers are pretty good with the disposable liners. I guess I couldn't find enough pros to go cloth so disposables it is. I've also tried all the disposables and found that Huggies worked best for Charlee. The Luvs irritated her…
  • That stinks...I will send you an invite if you just message me! I don't want to make the group public because for the 2 minutes it was public I got 4 random people who joined and who have never posted anything. I don't mind sending out invites but I don't want stalkers while we talk about boob pain, painful bowel…
  • Hello to all of my fit and fab soon to be mommies! When I made the group I tried to send out invites to all of those that had posted recently on the threads and obviously I missed many of you :( Also, the way they have the invite set up is pretty ridiculous and one typo and you are not invited (and as a new mommy...lots of…
  • Denise it is good for you to take some Vit D...but the baby needs Vit D given to them as well as this is not transferred through the breastmilk :) Also...I always thought that wipe warmers were unnecessary gizmos that were a little silly since the baby wouldn't be getting warm wipes when they weren't at home. But my tune…
  • Hey ladies! Hope you all are doing great! Looks like slowly but surely some of you are making your way to the mommy board (and if not now, very soon!!! yay!)! I was just thinking about a few things that I wanted to post as nobody told me these things... I'm sure this is tmi but when I gave birth I was lucky enough to not…
  • Yay! I'm super excited for you! 4cm...that is awesome!!! You will be joining us on the mommy board any day now! :)
  • Great advice ladies! I also wanted to add that for all of you nursing moms...having a big bottle of ice water (I use the water jug they gave me at the hospital) with you at all times, especially at night while you are awake nursing is so very important! Nursing will trigger a hormone to make you thirsty for a reason!…
  • I absolutely LOVE this blog and thought this was so true and funny...please read! :) http://www.pregnantchicken.com/pregnant-chicken-blog/2010/9/23/happily-after-giving-birth-10-things-they-dont-tell-you.html
  • Here is my little bug at two months old:
  • There is just a black stump on the belly button. All you have to do is make sure the diaper is folded down and not on top of it. Just take a cotton ball with alcohol on it every few diaper changes during the day and of course don't submerge it in water (keep it dry). As far as dressing goes, you don't have to do anything…
  • On Baby Half Off the Milkies (the milk catcher I rave about and love) is only $14.97! Catch it today while it is still for sale! http://babyhalfoff.com/
  • I gave Charlee one bottle just to try it out (which she did awesome btw) and I just took a big mug of hot water and put the bottle in it to warm up the milk. This is how we would make bottles when I was working as a Peds RN at Children's Mercy Hospital as well. I'm guessing a bottle warmer just does it quicker?! Also...I…
  • I started a group called Fit, Fabulous, and Pregnant while I was pregnant. It is an awesome group of women who support each other and hold one another accountable for staying healthy while pregnant. I now have a beautiful, healthy baby...had gained 33lbs and have lost all but 5 of it and my baby is 2 months old today! I…
  • I think what works for one person/family doesn't always work for everyone else. I am a stay at home mom and do at least one load of laundry a day. We were given tons of stuff as well so the amount I have wouldn't necessarily be the amount I would buy. So with that being said...I'd recommend: 5ish burp cloths (one for…
  • I also bottle fed Charlee for the first time yesterday and have to say I absolutely LOVE the Tommee Tippee bottles! The nipple is very realistic to a breast and it has a heat sensor on it so you know the milk is warm/cool enough for baby. I got the kind for colicky babies (even though Charlee isn't). I really recommend…
  • I brought Charlee home in a white onesie with cute little cotton stretchy pants and a zip up matching cotton jacket with a little hat. I'd recommend packing 2-3 comfy outfits (that match the weather). I'd go with more simple zip up footed onesie jammies. Just think "ease" and "comfort". And don't forget a hat and socks :)
  • Hi Jessica! Charlee and I are doing better than great! She is almost 2 months old already and gorgeous and growing every single day! Life is good! I breastfeed exclusively but I did buy Tommee Tippee bottles because I had several friends who gave them great reviews. We are going to start doing a bottle feeding every once…
  • Well I'm an open book! I love good advice from moms who have been there and who give it in a manner of "take it or leave it" and not "this is the ONLY way to do it"...if that makes sense?! I've learned that what works for one person/baby doesn't always work for another. And we are all different and have different…
