Lots of my family have type two diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. My blood pressure had been creeping up due to lifestyle, stress and poor nutrition. I've been getting it under control by prioritising sleep (battling insomnia), eating far less sodium in terms of processed food, and working out 4-5 days…

I'm in my first week of maintenance, so this is very timely and useful.

I'm about a pound away from my goal. I want to build more muscle and reduce body fat but I am generally happy. I have more energy and less knee pain which is a huge benefit for me.

+1 for FitnessBlender YouTube workouts, I've done quite well so far using their workouts.

Welcome TiffCK728! You'll find lots of encouragement on here. All the best :)

I like FitnessBlender on YouTube. They have plenty of exercises including no equipment, low impact ones. Good luck!

Hi! I'm 41 and am about a third of the way to my weight loss goal and trying to live a healthier lifestyle long term. Just eating better and knowing that I'm making positive changes is doing wonders for me mentally

Thanks for the encouragement! Could you (or anyone reading  ) please recommend a programme?
-
That's excellent! Well done

Thank you both for your replies! Will definitely check if my library has them.

Day 1 of level 1 (again!) will be tomorrow for me...

How are you all logging this on MFP? As circuit training?
-
THIS (especially your first sentence). Some people are disappointed when I don't tell them it's some miracle cure of fad diet.

Hi my target was 154lbs (5'9") down from 179lbs but I think I may aim for around 145 if that means my legs and belly will be on point.

I needed to see this! Thank you so much for sharing

I feel the same way.

I do this too. I use a Wii Fit as a scale, it records the data on a graph so I can see the trend over a week, month or year. I only "take notice" of weekly weigh-ins first thing on a Saturday morning.

Wow!!! There's some hope for me yet, then! *looks her up on Insta*

I second the weights/kettlebell training, or swimming!

Can't be good for the organs that are getting squished!

Hey you started 2 days before me! That's a great start, 13lbs! Stick with it, 2 lbs isn't a huge amount in the scheme of things. Think of where we'll be in a year from now, if we remain consistent :)
-
Almost 5'9", I was 179 lbs, now going for 159 lbs. We'll see when I get there...
-
Wow! Well done, you have a very inspirational story :D

I'm loving the positivity and supportive attitude of this thread and what I've seen on MFP so far! I joined back in 2011 after I had my son, lost the weight and that was it. Gained more weight last year, lost it and this year I was heavier than ever! Back since 5th July, eating more healthily for holistic reasons and not…
