  • What other GR events do you have planned? I'm a GRT and stumbled across your post searching GoRuck related topics. Not many on here, really thought there would be more. I saw on another thread you are going for the 500lb Meathead Club - me too!! I am signed up for the Jonesboro MHCLS in June
  • If you like pumpkin, try a pumpkin spice smoothie. 1 cup pumpkin 1 cup coconut or almond milk 1/2 scoop whey protein mix cinnamon and nutmeg to taste handful of ice
  • I've dated both younger and older than myself. Age is just a number. The older guy I dated (12 yrs) was more immature than one I dated who was 8 years younger than myself. Some younger people are just old souls and some just will never grow up. You can't allow yourself to get fixated on ages and just enjoy someone because…
  • Have you started out slowly with getting back to being active or literally jumped right into it? It could be anything from not enough of a warm up or need for more stretching. You should also check your shoes, as they are not as supportive after so many miles put on them. Inserts could help as well. My chiropractor is…
  • Mine is very random- little Foo Fighters, Black Eyed Peas, Beastie Boys, Ludacris, Kanye West, and some classics from the old Jock Jams.
  • I am training for my first half this coming March- haven't decided if it is going to be the local one or going to New Orleans for one. I've run several 5Ks and working my way up as well as adventure races. I would love to have some other runners as friends on here- anyone is welcomed to add me.
  • Planks are good for strengthening your core, gradually building up the length of time you can hold it for. Doing work with kettlebells or medicine balls help stabilize your core while doing crunches or twists. Russian twists are great with a kettlebell or dumbbells.
  • Ohh lots of stuff to try and just in time for the holidays! I typically bake a lot so obviously won't be able to enjoy what I usually make but some of that I can make just for myself! Thanks for sharing!
  • Yeah, that was my wife's biggest concern as well. She stuck with the half 'n' half for a few months, then suddenly said one day "I want to try the coconut milk". She switched to that, and never switched back. I don't mean coconut milk beverage, but canned lite coconut milk. The best price/taste/creaminess we've found was…
  • Being a life long athlete being made to run, I hated our morning runs for soccer and basketball. It wasn't until recently when I did a running program for women where I live that I learned to love it. It really helps if you have someone to do it with so you have someone to hold you accountable and help you. There are sites…
  • Are you stretching well prior to running and doing a warm up before you start running? You should at least stretch for 5-10 minutes then start with at least a 5 minute walk for warm up before you begin running. Try to start slow with a pace you could easily talk to someone while running. If you ease into it you will be…
  • It's really a matter of turning it into a habit. I do a boot camp at 5:30 every morning so I have to get myself up by 5 to get moving and ready. It is really hard after first but after a week or two of pushing yourself knowing you are going to regret not doing it later more so than regret getting up to workout, it becomes…
  • Got it! Thanks so much! With it near the holidays, I have some serious will power to work on as I am a baker and do A LOT! I have some good stuff to share! Thanks again, I appreciate it!
  • Thank you for explaining what it is. I have seen so many friends posting on facebook about it but no one has explained what it is. So now I know- I would love an invitation so I can check it out. I am always looking around on the web for new healthy recipes. My email is jngeer@gmail.com. Thanks!

  • For a fun workout that will give you a full body workout check out kettlebells. I absolutely love these and wish there were more days and hours in a week to fit these in with my running and boot camp. You can pick these up at Walmart, Target or any sporting goods store and there are tons of workouts on youtube. You will…
