In regards to your proposal for a Men's group, I'm in. I am back at MFP after being away for 9-10 months and reaching 105# lost. One of my goals was to be certified to SCUBA dive on a trip to Aruba in March of last year. I reached that goal and then never reset a new one to continue on to my weight loss journey. Here I am,…

I eat oatmeal most mornings for breakfast. 1 cup of rolled oats and 2 Tbs dried cranberries in a bowl with 1 3/4 cups water and then microwave for 8:30 on power level 5. When it's done, I add Walden Farms Zero Calorie Strawberry Syrup, Sugar Twin and FF Half n Half. Walden farms also has zero calorie maple syrup which…

Welcome to MFP from a Western Missourian. The people here are great.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Some of these made me laugh so hard. Trovan, I loved your suggestion of pounding a couple of Twinkies. Actually the 6 pack sounded pretty good too, but that's what got me here in the first place. To answer the question as to why the increase and why do I only want to loss 1/2#/week, to…

Wow Soze, another great post. Are you sure there's not a positon for a philosophy proffessor at a university somewhere you could fill. You are so right in needing closure for events in our life. I have been trying to deal with the slow death of a business that I built up over the past 15 years and cannot seem to find…

Thank you all for the comments, they mean allot. It continues to prove that this community is the best. The fish picture is soon to be gone and replaced with a current picture and then again in a few months with one from the beaches of Aruba with my bride of 30+ years. Thanks again.

Congratulations Tom your well on your way. Like Soze I started in the 300's (370) in August and have lost 101 as of last week. This coming summer is going to be a huge change from last year, just think of all the activities that will be so much easier to do.

Welcome back old friend. I certainly missed having you around on here and look forward to conversing about golf this coming year. I will probably play for the 1st time this year in Aruba in about a month, and plan on playing allot more this year.

Now here's a topic I can get into. Being a homebrewer for almost 20 years, I love good craft beers. At 1 time I had a chest freezer (temperature controlled) set up as a kegorator in my gargage with 30 gallons of beer on tap at any given time. Maybe that explains why I'm on here now loosing over a hundred pounds. To the…

My wife can understand exactly where your at right now. A couple of years ago I was the one not interested in dieting. I felt everything was fine and didn't want anything to change. She was able to lose weight but not keep it off. This time we are in it together and it is so much easier. Like everyone says, talk about it…

Try cooking it in beef or chicken stock instead of water, or add a teaspoon of beef or chicken soup base per cup of water used. You can also add seasoning to the rice to help like: chili powder, garlic, onion, cumin, etc.

Thank you for the reminder of how bad eating out can be. Our Achilles heal is Mexican and those chips added up fast. My wife and I have gone to splitting meals when we go out. The problem with that is, who chooses? The benefit is that the meal ends up costing half of what it would have and you don't have leftovers to worry…

Almost never. I space my snacks out through the day and save 150-250 calories for a PM snack. My night time snacks are usually a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich or single serve ice cream cup. Try to have more greens with lunch and dinner to free up some calories for later.

Julienne cut the fries, dry them off, toss with a little oil(or spray), toss with Emeril's Essence. Spread them out on a screen on top of a cookie sheet and bake at 450F for 10 minutes before turning. Bake an additional 10 minutes and turn again. Bake till done. Usually 5 or so more minutes depending on quantty of fries.…

I second the Skinny Cow items. Also, Great value Ice cream sandwiches (Mini's or sugar free) both around 100 calories. Whole wheat pastas and brown rice. I do allot with the sugar free/fat free Jello pudding mixes. Plan on 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. I keep Hunt's pudding packs (sugar free) and Quaker Oats low fat energy…

You can bake the onions on a cookie sheet to caramelize. It takes awhile but uses little to no fat. This method works great when trying to make a large quantity also.

Egg roll wrappers are won ton sheets and are located in the produce department most of the time. They need to be kept cool and when opened covered with a damp cloth to keep moist. They'll dry up quickly. These look great, I'll have to try them soon.

I like the warm and golf ideas and have that covered in April. Shopping I'm kinda holding off so I can get ready for the April trip and I've got 55 pounds to go. It should be close to Valentines Day when I reach it. so I could combine the celebration.

Keep'em coming. These are all good. I use the copy recent or yesterday allot and the save meals that I repeat. I eat the same thing for breakfast and snacks most days of the week (should have bought stock in Kashi).
