never heard anyone discouraging other late bed time activities before so can't be that bad for you lol ;-)

I've found it easier to fit in exercise after say 9/10pm and personally I'm sparko as soon as my head hits the pillow and generally sleep through the night. Whereas if I don't do anything I'm tossing and turning all night - probably because I'm regretting not doing any exercise! Only problem I had tonight on my run was it…

I'm loving walking at the moment. I try to get 2hours a day in. Cancelled my gym membership, other peoples sweat or fresh air... no competition. I have read a few places to do some strength training while out on your walks. Seriously, have you ever seen anybody stop and do some pushups or a few reps on some dumb-bells?…

For the first time I've had success at losing, and at the moment I am concentrating on my average net calories for the week under my target. It works for me, and I have beer, wine, crisps... but just in moderation and not a lot when I do. I'm better at not depriving myself and have finally had the results I want. I put on…

Hi Sarah, you mentioned that the implanon prevents weight loss. Do you know anything about this, I've got it in, I asked the dr to organise having it removed but she said to keep it in. I split from my bf 9 months ago so don't really need it. I'm intrigued about whether it's known to prevent weight loss. I too an counting…

*sigh* I thought most websites stopped blocking my hometown name. Google stopped blocking it years ago :-(. I'm genuinely from a place called ' s c u n t h o r p e '.

Don't they do those pie eating contests? Or donuts, hotdogs etc... Those guys must rack the calories up

If I've been on a night out I DREAD to think. there's no way I would log it on here! Jeez. If I'm at home with the girls BEFORE we go out, we can polish off like at least 1.5 bottles of wine each which is about 750 calories. So that plus my daily of 1200, plus the pizza that we will pretend we haven't eaten what's that…

That was a bit of a shock... I'd say it applies to about quarter of the population at times hehehehe.

Helpful there engineman!!! lol.

I've heard of this before but don't know much about it - I like the idea of it though.

That's it then, it's kiddy size plates and huge cutlery tomorrow!!

A lot of dinner plates are over 20cm nowadays! Funny, someone asked on Yahoo for people to comment on what they thought a standard size was and most quoted 9/10" which is 22/25 cms. No wonder people eat more than their body needs, me included, well that was until today haha

It certainly is a mind game, conditioning your brain to behave differently. I'm quite excited for tomorrow now, sometimes the more trivial the change appears the more impact it will have. I'll have to let you all know how I get on because I think that portion control is my biggest battle. The types of foods I'm eating are…

Rainbow, that's exactly what I mean. I think that the amount we think we should eat at a meal has become distorted. Small plate challenge starts tomorrow! From now on if my mum serves up her usual daily banquet on a plate I may have to halve it onto a smaller plate so I am not tempted to just eat on.

Hi taramaureen, Out of interest what is your BMR as it may be that you are eating enough calories to maintain your weight and not reduce. If you don't know, then click on tools above and then follow the link to BMR. I'm on a 1200 a day limit which to be honest with you I have only managed to stick to a couple of times in…

Wow. This is so sad, I remember watching her and have a lot of respect for the help she gave to others. RIP. x

Hi there, I'm new to this today too. Just set up the app on my phone to track on my food - that's half the battle. It's so easy to over eat. I used to do Billy Blank, but I've since got the Zumba DVDs as I'm not ready to go to a class yet! What you'll find with the Zuma is it's so much more fun! Good luck
