  • My mother-in-law solved her problem by using a cast iron pan, the doctors use that to explain her lack of anemia. My doctors (mine is super low) told me to use a multi-vitamin with an iron supplement since I don't use my pan.
  • I am SO trying this this weekend! My husband LOVES banana bread, but now that we are both watching what we eat baked goods don't seem to get so much love from us. :-( YEAH! I'm SO excited to try this! Thank you for sharing!
  • I am in the same boat as you. My size 16 jeans still fit, I'm not even down a size after 16 pounds. The *only* clue I have is that my engagement ring no longer fits (way too big) fortunately my wedding ring keeps it on my finger. I just keep telling myself that the scale can't be lying and that eventually I'll notice the…
  • You are SMOKING HOT! Great job!!! You truly are an inspiration!!!!
  • Great Job!!!! You look amazing and years younger. I'd also add happier too! :-)
  • I am like another poster on here...I started to ONLY drink water and eventually I got over my hatred of it. :-) Now I can drink a gallon a day without noticing it! I've been a month without any soda of any type. You can include tea, iced tea or normal brewed tea, and I know a bunch of people who account their coffee for…
  • I agree with Nikstergirl...I pretty much only watch my Calories, Protein and Fat. But I also watch my Iron. I totally ignore the sugar for the low limit. But I also try to avoid refined sugars also.
  • Can't wait to try this!!!!!!
  • I LOVE Trader Joes! True, they have less variety, but their products are excellent, and their humor is amazing. :-) I've never shpped much at Whole Foods, but I'm pretty sure that Trader Joes tends to be slightly cheaper. Enjoy both stores!!! I'm also here in Ohio, our neares TJ is also over an hour away and we NEVER get…
  • My poor husband and the poor waiter had to wait for me to decide what I was going to have for dinner once while we were out. I probably spent about 20 minutes online at a restaurant's pathetic nutritional value chart before I finally decided something that would do!
  • I SO hope my body adjusts! I keep joking that I'll be making us broke with how much TP I've been using...I go ALL THE TIME!
  • Where is the like button???? :-) I originally signed up to loose weight for my wedding, one woman sent me a very mean and preachy message about how my intentions were incorrect and that I really needed to look at my life to figure out what was important. She was REALLY mean about it. Everyone's trip <meant journey> is…
  • I'm a Nanny, not a mom. :-( Yet anyway. :-) And I think I'd feel exactly like you do if I were in your situation. Let me ask you this: If your daughter is fine, if she doesn't need that other doctor's appointment, would you stop worrying until you knew for sure? I sure as heck wouldn't. I'd make that appointment lickity…
  • Three words: Sugar Free Fudgesicles! I'm in LOVE with them!
  • Maybe it is walking around the block a couple of times during lunch, or cutting back on coffee by a cup. It can be little or big. Just try to think of something in your life that you could/want to change for a healthier lifestyle. :-)
  • I've learned to make sure I have ample calories set aside for snacks. I try to keep my meals between 200 and 300 calories, leaving enough room. (I try to keep between 1200 and 1560 calories a day depending on my activity level). I also know I am much more active during the morning, so I eat more of my calories then to…
  • I'm pretty sure it happens to a ton of people. I've used MFP off and on for 6-9 months and this topic seems to pop up almost every week. And, yes, it happens to me also. :-(
  • My husband regularly goes to bed around 3-5, and he gets seriously muchie during that time. He decided at the beginning of doing this to include those calories in the "current day" and the new day starting when he woke up. It works for him! :-)
  • I actually asked my doctor this very same question yesterday. Minus specific supplements she told me that any multivitamin would work, specific brands didn't matter. She did, however, tell me to pick one with added iron since I am anemic. Hope this helps!
  • I live in Ohio, have never gardened before and am going to be starting my first one this year! Yesterday I discovered: http://www.burpee.com/ where I can type in my zip code, find my growing zone, and even get a calender as to when to plant certain crops! ENJOY and HAVE FUN!
  • I almost always eat the same sandwich from subway so I went to their site, gathered all of the nutritional value for the components I add and created a meal just for me. Took a bit of work at first, but now adding my sandwich calories, fat, sugars and what not is as easy as checking a box! :-)
  • There is such a thing as good fat, imo. Nuts and avocados are exceptional for you! Think about getting your fat from sources like that. Think low-fat to non-fat cheese. Now, if there is a no-fat or low-fat option I ALWAYS buy that. I now drink skim milk. This took me a while to get used to, but I don't miss the difference…
  • Not necessarily. Read all about the app before purchasing because you will be told if you can use it on the touch, on the phone or both! The difference is on the touch access to the internet isn't required where as on the phone it is. Word to the wise: MFP does require access to the internet if you want it to sync to your…
  • Thats a really great idea! I'm going to have to do that!!! :-)
  • I really enjoy my ipod touch! :-) The exercise/weight loss programs I enjoy: MFP C25K 200 Situps 200 Squats 100 Push-ups I'm sure there are more, this is what I've use(d). Random programs I love: Facebook XmasCount (down!) :-) Peeps Show (Washington Post's favorite Peep dioramas!) Kindle (You don't need a Kindle for this…
  • We buy Nickle's Light Whole Grain (Kinda looks exactly like white bread with speckles in it, hopefully it is a healthier choice though) but it is 35 cals per slice. :-)
  • I was just thinking I should buy some instant to try this as well! Looks YUMMY!
  • It took me one week to get used to eating the right amount of calories for my goal...it took me about another two weeks to figure out how/what to eat in such a way that I wasn't always hungry and at my caloric goal. There was a lot of trial and error there, and in the beginning I was frequently going to bed hungry. :-( I…
  • I have an original Kindle for book reading and I LOVE IT!!!! I do have an ipod touch with the kindle ap, but the interface isn't as nice to me. The worst is the brightness of the screen. It would be great for reading in the dark, but its too harsh on my eyes. I never use it, instead I use my kindle!
  • Though I know I should, I don't eat all that many veggies. The veggies I eat tend to be pretty much the same: broccoli, bell peppers, fresh spinach...etc. I used to count calories for them all, and for spices too (they add up as well). Now I just do the quick add calories and add a generous amount to include both spices…
