  • This happened to me to --at work of all places. Over the course of a few months, I was asked if I was pregnant, or some people asked me when I was due, or told me congratulations on the baby...from many different co-workers at work. I just kind of jokingly said no I'm not pregnant, just need to stop eating junk food....or…
  • I have to remind myself of this sometimes, but its very true.
  • I have to agree with most of the other women here. When I'm working out I really don't want to be approached. By anyone.
  • Thanks for the tips! I do actually have a 1 piece swimsuit, its just not exactly a "sports" type of suit. I may just start out with buying an inexpensive Speedo-type suit for now. You do have a point about the socks. I'm definitely not in this one to win it, or break any records, so I may just take the extra time to put on…
  • I know this question has been answered many times over, but I thought I would add my two cents. If you are checking a bag at a race, I would just put the keys there. I know some are skeptical about doing that, but I've never had a problem. Or, if you're not checking a bag, then take only the 1 car key with you and tie to…
  • I just took up running this spring with the goal of doing a 10K in August, and maybe a few 5K's as well. I ran my first ever race yesterday, a 5K and my time was 30:55. I was expecting to run something like 36:00 so I was VERY pleased with my finish time! My next goal is a 10K in about a month, so we'll see how that goes!…

  • Whenever I can, I do try and run later in the day. Usually my schedule just doesn't allow for it though, which is why I run in the mornings before work.
  • I think you will find lots of helpful information on this site to help you along your way. Good luck!!
  • I drink a protein shake every morning for my breakfast...its very similar to the slimfast shakes. That, combined with the rest of my diet of small and healthy meals, has worked out very well for me. I exercise a couple of times a week also, and In 2 weeks I've lost 6 lbs so far! I think the shakes are a great addition to…
  • For me personallly...since I've been eating healthier and exercising more often...I actually feel like I have more energy than I used to. Have you been getting enough sleep? Do you eat anything or exercise right before bedtime? Either of those things could cause you to take much longer to fall asleep and therefore not get…
  • NO!!!! Just do your best to get back on track, and things will even themselves out. You should never skip eating just to balance out your diet.
  • I actually live in Chicago, and I'll be celebrating my 30th birthday next week. I know first hand about all the good food here! I'm thinking I'll probably just eat what I want on the day that I celebrate, and try to be as good as I can the rest of the days that week. I'll probably still count the calories just to see how…
  • I've got the belly fat too...its why I joined this site. My goal is just to lose about 9 lbs or so total....although belly fat is my main goal, I know I have to work out my whole body. I walk every day for about 30 minutes, and twice a week I also go running for about 30 minutes. Thats about all I have time for right now.…
  • I just started too, and am also finding that I generally don't meet my calorie goal each day. I think it is a little exaggerated to tell everyone if you miss your goal, even by just a little bit, that you are putting your body in starvation mode though, like the MFP site does. My calorie goal per day is 1200, plus I do…
