When you have an addiction, you abstain! Take 2 weeks and have no sweets, sugar or even high sugar fruits. Then add them back in moderation.

Dump the bast@rd, lose the weight and find somebody who actually deserves you!

LIfting is great to help you maintain your lean body mass. I think your goal of under 200 in a month is not reasonable. That is 15 pounds. 1-2 pounds a month is much more reasonable.

WOW. you look great. Congratulations. Keep it up.

Exactly!

All MFP with targets on my macro-nutrients

This is really not rocket science. It's about eating less and moving more. When people are not losing using the calorie goals set here by MFP, they are either underestimating the calories they consume or overestimating the calories they burn (or both). Plain and simple. Common ways to makes these errors is to: 1) not…

Great job Com-padre!

Can't really agree here. Certainly strength training can help, but belly fat is a matter of fat loss. My avatar here is the result of mainly bicycling: very much steady state cardio and I don't think I look half bad for an old guy.:blushing:

Here here! You role will change to cheer leader rather than being cheered.

You are exactly right! But there were a few chuckles!

I have been riding my bike about 4 times a week ( 13.5 miles) and doing some of the P90X routines. (broke my ankle a year ago and still not 100% for jumping, etc) Thanks for the kind comments!

WoW Marevlous! Keep up the great work!

"Step away from the keyboard!"

Good luck with that. I don't think you have applied yourself to MFP sufficiently to judge how effect it could be for you.
-
I am 8 lbs from goal !!! Taking it slow and really just trying to work on my strength training as my primary weapon.
-
I set my calores as per MFP, reduced my carbohydrate intake, upped the protein and ride my bike. You don't need alot of fancy equipment to lose weight and get in shape. It also is not about motivation, it's about commitment.

This post gets my stamp of approval!

Look. Men's sizing has gotten the same way. In a proper pair of dress trouser, I might be 35 while I have jeans that are size 32! Really?! I hate this vanity sizing stuff. It makes no sense.

The calculations for the HRM are usually based on steady state exercise. They could be off for HIIT training.......

Thanks for the kind comments!

AWESOME job!

I started in February and am now about 4 months in. I stay motivated by setting attainable interim goals and reading the encouragement of the people here and all the posts. I haven't felt it was a burden and I am down 45 lbs and about 10 from my original goal. I actually enjoy using the Android phone app to enter my food…

First thing you need to do is actually track and MEASURE EVERYTHING you are eating or drinking. Only then can anyone give you rational advice.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc:ohwell:

If you are not overweight, why do you think you have a problem?
