TDEE (Total daily energy expenditure) is how many calories you burn a day doing all your daily activites including exercise. Find out your TDEE, eat below your TDEE calories (a good amount is usually 20% under) and you will lose weight. Edited to say: see above!

You lost 24lbs in two days!? But congrats!

Awesome weight loss you look fabulous! Random question but are you from New Zealand? The hills around you look like NZ :)

Whether you think you can, or think you can't - you're right.

We are twins! I'm 152 lbs hoping to get down to 130. How old are you? :)

I think there's heaps of different ways of doing it. I've never tried it because i'm one of those people that loves breakfast! :) But some people just have a certain window each day where they eat all their calories. Maybe between 2-8 pm or something. Apparently there's nothing wrong with eating all your calories in a…

I think you may be a year out in this group! It's from 2011 :)

If you are out for long periods of time and don't find time to eat have you thought about intermittent fasting? That may work better with your schedule. :)

For me it was 277 calories and I am 154 lbs 21 years old and 160cm (5'3). I'm not very fit either and was going pretty hard. I guess it would vary heaps for everyone!

Yeah my heart rate would get up to about 170 even 180 up hills and would go down to around 130 if I was on the flat for awhile. Ok maybe it is accurate then. Thanks guys for your feedback :)

There is definitely motivation to exercise outside on nice nights. Who would think Dunedin would have a 20 degree day today in the middle of winter!

Do you still have your size 14 pants that you used to wear? If so put them on and if they are way bigger then you have lost around your waist line. I'm sure after 44 pounds lost you have lost inches off your waist! Don't get disheartened about the size especially between brands! Awesome work on losing 44 pounds! :)

Awesome work on the weight loss! You look amazing!! PS are you from NZ? I recognise those tights from glassons :)

Hi! I'm from Dunedin. If you search groups for New Zealand there is a New Zealand Group you might want to be a part of :)

Hi everyone! I'm Paige and I'm a student at Otago and would love to lose 15 kg for summer. It's great to see other New Zealanders on here especially as we can discuss summer bodies unlike all the Americans on here who have just had summer! Good luck to everyone!

The amount of calories you burn will be different for everyone depending on height and weight. I do similar sort of classes at unipol in Dunedin and never know how many calories I burn - I usually always underestimate though. I've ordered a polar heart rate monitor off the internet to accurately work out how many calories…

Are you eating back your exercise calories?

Hi! I'm just new to this but: I'm 5'3 SW: 168 lbs CW: 164.56 lbs GW: 130 lbs I thought that I should be eating 1200 calories a day to try and lose 1-2 lbs a week but after reading a lot of the stuff on the message boards it seems like you shouldn't eat below your BMR and mine is around 1500 calories. I exercise 4-5 days a…
