Yep. Did my first 5k at 220, now have completed many running events and am training for my second half marathon. Like everyone said, go slow, get good shoes, there's no shame in walking. as I like to say, I may be slow but I'm faster than the old me. You got this!!!

I'm 5 ft 9 in, large hourglass frame. Currently 196 and a size 10/12 bottom and M/L top. Caliper measurements tell me my body fat percentage is 30, with 134 lb lean body mass. I'll look best at about 175-180 I think. I lift heavy stuff, run, and bike.

Hey Martin! I love the phone app! Very easy to track. Weight Watchers worked fine until I got very, VERY active, and then I was starving. I like that MFP syncs with my Bodymedia.
