Did my first tri last summer. I had done 9 min miles in 5k races with no problem. I did my 5k in the tri in 32 minutes. After the swim and bike ride my legs were so tired. You need a HRM. I never go by the machine readings. When I run my HR will go to @ 190, but averages @ 170.

I bought my bike last March. My first tri was in August. I did not want to spend a lot on a bike. I went with a road bike. It is the Trek Lexa. It is designed for women. I had a fitting done before I bought it, and spent @ 900. I agree that you should be fitted for the bike before you buy.

I think the fastest I have run, in a 5k, was a 9.15 min mile. When I do longer runs, 5 miles + I usually average 10.15. I do take a walk break at every mile. Not a long one, 30 seconds or so. I do this too. I try to do this for all restaurants, not just fast food. I am amazed at the number of calories in some of the food I love!

When the weather is nice I will do 3 to 4 runs a week @ 1 hour each and then strength train at the gym 4 days a week for @ 45 minutes. During the winter I am lucky to get 1 outside run so I will run at the gym for 30 - 45 minutes 4 days a week and do my same 45 mins of strength training 4 days a week.

I hate doing cardio at the gym. I do it when the weather is bad, but I don't enjoy it. Do you have any outside activities you enjoy? I have a bike and my husband and I love to go for rides in the morning. I also play tennis a couple of times a week. I find these are 2 great ways to get in cardio.

I eat cream of wheat. I add a little splenda to it. I go through phases with oatmeal, so when I'm not on an oatmeal kick I switch to cream of wheat.

The only time I have ever had boobs was when I was pregnant. I would love it if some of my weight was boob related. :-)

I am 5'6 and 118. I would like to be 115. I have a very small frame. Don't worry about curves because I have never had any, even when I was 125 - 130 pounds. Everything goes straight to my belly.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for years. We don't have Ballys in this area. I only pay 20 a month and that includes all classes, pool, racket ball courts and basketball courts. It is a very nice gym with great equipment. Hope it works out for you lifetime members.

I have the 405cx and love it. I use it at the gym and when I run and bike outside. It took me a while to talk myself into buying it because of the $$ but it has been worth it!

I run 4 times a week. 3 to 4 miles a run. Will be increasing my miles in January for training. I strength train several days a week for 30 to 45 minutes. I take a multi vitamin daily.

When I was pregnant my trainer would make me stand on a bosu ball with one foot. Try keeping your balance for a minute or so and then switch to the other foot. He would always be there to catch me if I needed him to. Now when I do it I get close enough to the wall that I can catch myself if I start to fall. It looks silly…
