Yep it will get better. Took me several months to feel up to my normal energy level after surgery. And now, 2.5 year out, energy level is off the hook lol

I'm 2.5 years post op from RNY and still have this issue occasionally and I'm glad. I call it my reality check when I get a little too big for my britches and want to push the limits lol

You will lose everywhere I promise. I was in 26/28 pants and now can wear a size 8 so it will come off your stomach. I was not ready for the teeny tiny boob issue but they are now almost microscopic lol so just be prepared for that. Victoria Secret push ups are my favorite accessory now and you can't tell. I lost in my…

Mine is the same as april1731. I do have labs done once a year for my annual appointment and every 2 years I have a bone density test done. Labs and bone test are to make sure that malabsorption is not an issue since I had RNY.

Congratulations!! I'm sure you will do great!!

Got to love a clever kid!!

I am 2+ years post op from RNY and I am at maintenance. I am not interested in losing any more weight. I must confess I do not feel hunger and I do still dump on occasion so we do not have those items in common. But what we do have in common is an obsession over thinking about food. I still do that as well. But what works…

Good luck!!

I told everyone, family, friends, co workers. I have received nothing but positive feedback. Even if I did, it wouldn't matter I know this was the best choice for me.

Every 3 weeks for me

All great tips. I still see my therapist on an intermittent basis as well when something new pops up! Also planning should be integral to your new life. Probably until 9 months post op I had an emergency kit in my car that included one full day of supplements, two mix with water protein packets, 3 bottles of water and a…

I'm 2 years post op from bypass. I took 2 weeks off and went back to my desk job full time after that. Fatigue was an issue for me for the first 3 months. We consume so few calories that our body is just tired. Sounds like you have a flexible schedule so just plan well when fixing food and make sure you take your protein…

Maybe I can help with the I still don't understand part. Once the weight starts to come off you actually start to feel like doing things. I was 355 at my consult I didn't want to walk, I didn't want to move, I wanted to sit because it hurt to do other things. It hurt my knees, it hurt my back, it hurt my feet. But when you…

btw...there is a gastric bypass/VSG/band group on MFP. You might want to check it out.

Congrats on the NSV!! but I have to ask, you can wear a size 4 and want to lose 31 more pounds?!? Is that safe? I ask only because I am now in the overweight category as well, to get to healthy BMI I need to lose 25 more. I'm 5"4" and a size 8 and perfectly content to stay there. I would be a walking skeleton if I lost 25…

There's an ignore list on MFP...lol too funny!

Congrats and we'll prep your spot on the losers bench...lol I had RNY not VSG but my pain was non existent, I stayed on my pain meds for 4 days after coming home just to be proactive but after that stopped with no issues. I attribute it to the walking, so that is my best piece of advice. Right after surgery they will have…

Didn't your surgeon or nutritionist give you a plan to drop 10% before your surgery. If not, they should have. And you need to break the carb cycle now, because post surgery they will not be an option, at least from bread and grains, for at least 6 months.

My consult was in April, 2012 and my surgery Sept 4, 2012. But my insurance required no supervised weight loss so that is just how booked my surgeon was. Because he's AWESOME...lol We all think our surgeon is the best. I had to do pre op testing and then we have a 4 hour binder boot camp that wallks us thru the surgery as…

pawoodhull..is the syntrax protein powder sensitive to heat? I use the unjury unflavored protein powder in a lot of things but have to be careful when adding to a hot dish as the protein can clump an coagulate. So, I was curious if you had run across this phenomenon with the Syntrax.
