  • I'm excited about this too but I'm so easily distracted by fitness programme ADD, I really REALLY need to finish my CLX/TF/Running hybrid first, then I'll buy this as my reward!

  • That's great, thanks! I was a little afraid of going rogue off the schedules that are out there but, like you, I don't really want to workout much over an hour and I was wondering if one in the morning and one in the evening might be more workable. I think I'm going to have to be brave and go with whatever I feel like or…
  • Great results! What kind of hybrid schedule are you following? Are you doing two workouts a day, one CLX and one TF or alternating days of CLX and TF?
  • Hey, just checking in. Burn Week 2. Week 1 took about a week and a half as my 3-year-old and I have been ill and I'm averaging 5 hours of sleep a night, oh yeah, and I was intensely sore! Not so sore this week AND I wacked up the weights too. It started as an accident when I misread what I'd lifted last time I'd done this…
  • Well hello there! Great to have found this thread today as I am resolved to get up earlier to fit in some exercise and me time before the little darling wakes up. I did it when she was a baby and waking at 5 for a feed but then going back to sleep until 8am and I felt I got into a really natural routine and had some time…
  • I always hear that compound moves are great bang for your buck but when my arms are so much weaker than my legs, I sometimes feel my legs aren't getting much of a workout because I have to lift light enough for my arms to then do the flies and it's not that challenging in the leg dept.
  • I've only done Burn so far but I like feeling stronger than Donna and Leila! Hearing Mike and Jenelle grunting and gasping reminds me I should be feeling that too and helps me be brave and go heavier.
  • I did B1 last week for the first time in ages and oh.my.life. was I sore. I was walking like a robot and sitting down was agony!
  • I've been in this group for ages but never stuck with the programme past week 5! I get distracted with other programmes etc. I've been off exercise for 4 months with an achilles injury and am hoping I'm now good to get back to it. I took the excuse and ate like a pig the whole time and it really is time to get my head…
  • I'm in Cheltenham!
  • I'm not Catholic, but YES! I'm in for the collective motivation. :-) I have a huge sweet tooth so gave up all sweet stuff (chocolate, sweets, sugary snacks, cereal, cakes etc) bar a 1/2 teaspoon of honey in my greek yogurt and oatmeal last year and lost 7 whole lbs over lent. That's like 24500 calories of junk I was…
  • This week's dinners: South Beach Diet Shepherd's Pie (uses mashed cauliflower on top, mince and edamame inside) with parmesan sprinkled roasted green beans and broccoli Baked Mediterranean chicken (tomato, basil, olives), wholegrain rice with a splash of Tamari soy sauce and mixed veg Salmon/cod fillet baked with garlic,…
  • Like peas and carrots! I do a 90 min class once a week and add some moves to my extended stretch after my long run. I was doing yoga before running but not consistently, and I found running really tightened me up so it's the perfect antidote really. You really can't beat going to a class for proper instruction…
  • AMAZING RESULTS! And with a new baby and 5 other kids, whaaaaat?! LOL! Very inspiring, thanks for posting. x
  • Some of my staples that help keep me on track: Breakfast: instant porridge with no added sugar banana or honey swirl of almond butter Great snack: Fage 0% fat Greek yoghurt Strawberries Blueberries honey I add a handful of Nature's path wheat-free Os (my daughter's wheat-free cheerio-like cereal) Great lunch: Two Chicks…
  • I'm the same. I like to keep a tab on my 5k time but I get so nervous about racing, even ParkRun, it's not all that enjoyable. But I'll try again soon as see if I can get the hang of chilling out and just getting on with it like a training run.
  • My mum did it for about 8 months and lost a good amount of weight (I don't know the specific amount, I think it was about 3 stone) but as soon as she had any real food, she put on weight so it kind of ties you to the programme and you see the effects of every single venture outside of their food. That's not worth it, if…

  • I've also done one ParkRun. It really hasn't fit in with my schedule so far as I've been doing LSRs on the weekend and training for events and tend to need a rest day afterwards but I would like to do one at least monthly. It would be good to have a virtual MFP race on Saturdays!
  • Wow, that sounds like a helluva day! I did an off-road 10k mid-September that it took me an age to get over too. My body strength really needs to catch up with my cardio fitness and enthusiasm!
  • Your two runs on the same day, was that London 10k and The Color Run by any chance? I thought about doing the London 10k but decided to do The Color Run instead for fun. It was SUPER hot that day!
  • I'm new to using the Garmin but wondered this too as I've run over the distances but it hasn't logged them as a record. I'm comparing it to Strava, which I used previously and does all these things automatically, which is really useful and motivating.
  • I just ordered Rodney Yee's Yoga Conditioning for Athletes DVD, which apparently has a 60 minute all-round routine and some 10 minute sport-specific routines that I plan on doing after runs.
  • I only got my Garmin a few weeks ago so I'm still figuring it out but the data transfer does seem to be slow. I clicked it loads the first few times, thinking it wasn't working but it's just really slow. I also charge it after every run. Speaking of slow - don't worry too much about speed if you're fairly new to running.…
  • Request sent! I only have one other friend at the moment so hoping to get some more to motivate me!
  • Some really useful information on lower leg pain here: http://www.runnersworld.com/injury-treatment/primer-lower-leg-pain HTH
  • An slightly old thread but adding my experience in case it helps anyone else. Re lower back pain - I found myself unable to complete the deadlift set because of the burning tightness in my lower back so felt awful as the target muscles didn't get a workout! I thought I was doing everything right (flat back, hips back etc)…
  • I did Chalean Extreme and C25k after Turbo Fire too - loved it! Actually, I loved running so much, it took over and I dropped CLX but I'm starting again next week to build some strength over the winter period.
  • I'm in! I have been wanting to re-start for a while but got in to running in a big way and have been focussing on that. I definitely need to keep up the weights to get my body fat down though. Intended to start again tonight but I've had a few nights of really bad sleep and I'm so tired. EXCUSES, I KNOW! I'll be starting…
  • Yep, over here! *waves hand* I feel for you, it's pretty scary to go through that when you're out on your own. Glad you're ok now. I'm not sure if you need to give yourself any particular recuperation time physically but in my experience, the anxiety caused by worrying you'll have another is almost capable of bringing one…

  • That's great! I had a new 5k PB two weeks ago: 27.18. I also did my first off-road 10k last weekend and, although I didn't beat my best road 10k time, I was very happy to come in at 62:38 because I've never run off-road before and I rolled my ankle so had to pause several times to knead out the resulting tightness in my…
