Don't be discouraged... just be true to yourself and log everything. This is a learning process. Before you know it, you will be within your calorie goal. It really helps to look at other food diaries too! Best of luck on day #2! You can do it!

I live in Winter Park... but I'll be out of town that weekend! Good luck though! Maybe next time!

I'll probably invest in a good pedometer soon, but for the time being, I use an app on my Iphone called "Walkmeter".

Hello everyone. I'm Kemeko from Florida. I'm trying to get in shape and train for my first 5K run. I've signed up for two in February, but they will most likely be walks. By the end of the year, I hope to be running them! Looking forward to participating in this group!

Definitely stretch... I found out the hard way after a particularly difficult day at the gym. I could barely move the next day. I found a great website with all sorts of interesting stretches (some of which I had never even thought of): http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/stretching/allstretches.php

Instead of overwhelming yourself (and likely your body since it's used to low calories), why don't you make it your goal to add 1 thing a day to increase your calorie count? You'll be able to build up food items/quantity over time and your anxiety over gaining will be limited. Feeding yourself properly is the only way to…

I have PCOS, but I am not on metformin anymore (yay!). I had horrible digestive issues when I did take it though. I was on 500 mg of the the regular formula and it was horrid. The nausea and gastric distress will go away after a week or so. In the meantime, I would recommend taking your meds with meals... preferably one…

Love this! Thanks for the motivation! :flowerforyou:

I'm with Dave on this one 100%.... life is short to sit around and wait for someone. If you want him, make sure he knows. If he's not interested, then certainly moved on with your life. Otherwise, you will always be wondering "what if?".

I love steamed spinach with a lil bit of extra virgin olive oil, fresh pepper and a tiny bit of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Delicious!

I had it done in 2007... it was the most expensive mistake I have ever made. I would NOT recommend it. The band doesn't do anything except limit your ability to eat healthy food. My band is unfilled and yet to this day I have difficulty eating veggies, whole grain breads, brown rice, lettuce. Some days are better than…

I think it all depends on the activity. Good shoes provide you with stability (to prevent injury) and cushioning (to limit the impact/shock on joints). You can replace the cushioning part with a well-carpeted floor or yoga mat, but the stability part is important. Personally, I always wear shoes... except when I dance. It…

Have you shopped at Aldi? I see there's one in your city on Fort Street. I stock up on the essentials there and save a ton. Milk is usually $1 less per gallon than anywhere else, eggs are about $0.50 less, and it goes on and on. They even have a small meat section with some decent prices from time to time. If you have not…

Hi Susan... oh I would love to live in London! My absolute favorite city in the whole world! But alas, I'm across the pond. :grumble: I would recommend looking for locals through the "Community" tab on the page banner. You can search for individual members using the "Find Members" function. Another good way to reach out to…

I just rediscovered some great compilations on my iPod that I would highly recommend. It's all from the Ministry of Sound (MoS), a nightclub in London. Great dance music, great beats... they keep me moving without even thinking about the time.

I exercise twice a day now. On the days I weight train in the morning, I do an hour of cardio after work. On the days I don't train, I replace it with an hour of cardio in the morning and an hour in the evening. Some days I do less ... If my schedule is really hectic. But I make sure to put in at least 30 mins each morning…
