  • It sounds like you're doing it right!! #digdeeper :D I got back on the Insanity a two weeks ago... I did it at the end of the year there and lost 22lbs in the process, but as soon as it finished, I kind of stopped working out altogether and went a little mad with my eating habits, hence the restart. If it helps, my HRM has…
  • I had a similar problem a few years back, and like others have said, it was shin splints caused by over-pronation (a problem that also caused me countless Achilles injuries). Short-term, the only way to deal with it was to lay off the running for a little bit, ice up and take plenty of ibuprofen. Long term, I went to see a…
  • Logging everything, but like someone else said it'll be an estimate since I'm eating at someone else's this year. No point in setting yourself up for a disappointment at the next weigh in, why start the year on a downer!?
  • Goal was 165lbs, its not going to happen though :( ... well, not in time for xmas, but it will get there.
  • ^^ THIS ^^ At times, the mirror can be a better friend than the scale.
  • Calories don't count on your birthday, come on now everyone knows that   Happy Birthday!! :drinker:
  • Don't let it get you down, stick at it... I don't think weight loss is a constant thing anyway. I have found that I will drop for a while and then either plateau for a bit, or even gain. I logged in at 167lbs last week, without any real change to my diet I have climbed to 170lbs (today). Looking at my weight report graph…
  • Everyone is different. The magic number (well, on here anyway) is meant to be 1200 calories per day to lose weight. I know from experience that if I were to consume 1200 calories per day for any length of time, be it from 5 small meals per day or just one large meal per day, I gain weight (and I'm doing the insanity…
  • What to do is post it on a few more public forums to give more people a good laugh at your suffering :P I once thought that going for a run wearing just a football top (or soccer, not sure where you are) was a good idea. The unfortunate positioning of both the club badge on one side, and the Nike tick on the other, left my…
  • Could be salt/sodium (?)... I find that I get like that for a few days after a takeaway, or something junky like nachos/pizza, kinda bloated and more "wobbly" than normal. It never happens on the day that I eat whatever it is, but for maybe the next two days after it. Someone told me once that it was the sodium in the food…
  • Agree, it could just be water retention. My own example, if it helps... I weighed 167lbs yesterday, but 172lbs today... I know I've not gained 5lbs overnight, but do know that I had some very salty bacon for breakfast yesterday so the sodium has likely caused my body to hold on to any fluids taken in (if I understand how…
  • I have joined ibyant79's Insanity Challenge for the New Year Link: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/17906-insanity-challenge-january-2014 I'm in for the UK! :glasses:
  • Feel free to add me, I might get involved (UK). I should have finished my 60 days on Sun 22nd, taking the week between xmas and new year off and then going back into it again, so it would be interesting to do it with others next time around. I have been using a HRM and have found that only one workout burns 1k+ and that's…
  • Power Jumps are the devils work!! :grumble: Well done!! Great results!!
  • @Confuzzled4ev This is my second time around too... I got to this exact point last time around, had a few friends round to watch the football and after several beers thought it would be a good idea to show them some of the moves. Just for future reference... Beer + Power Pushups don't go... end result... one fractured…
  • The question I was going to ask is what you were trying to lose exactly?? You can see your ribs and hip bones in your profile pic so there's nothing there to lose!! I have just finished off the first week of what you could call the second level and you're right enough, not a whole lot changed during that recovery week, but…
  • I'm lucky enough to really enjoy filter (especially starbucks), and don't like the fancy stuff 5kcal a cup and I'm happy :D
  • Yeah, you can't pick and choose where the loss comes from. I have the same problem, and even with my weight down to about the 180lbs you're aiming for, they're still there although definately reduced. I've been told to lift some weights to tone the area, not tried that yet, but seems like sound advice. Good luck!
  • It's an excellent workout, and gets results... but you need to be motivated to do it every day which can sometimes be tough, because it it really kicks your *kitten*. If you're someone who struggles to find that motivation, I wouldn't waste the £100. I would agree with what the person above says, take some time to watch…
  • Neck, Hands & Wrists, Ankles seemed to have turned pretty boney. Shoulders have slimmed down a bit. Everything still around the middle for now.
  • I have just started Week 5 (recovery week) of the Insanity Workouts and I would echo what other have already said, don't waste your money, really, its just not worth it for these shakes and stuff. Generally, I do my insanity workout as soon as I get in from work, then just have dinner... just make sure you stay properly…
  • I can driink up to 60oz of coffee (usually starbucks filter with a bit of semi-skimmed milk) per day, and it hasn't affected my weight loss. Good for me? probably not, but not causing the pounds to pile on... so enjoy.
  • I'd agree with the above, don't push an injured muscle, it will only make things worse. I managed to throw my back doing stance jacks half way through the pure cardio session. I pushed through the rest of the session, probably just because the muscles were warm, but it was painful... Only thing for it was to just…
  • It will will give you a serious kicking! But hey, no pain.... ... quickly, don't be as naive as I was and look forward to 'recovery week' next week, it wasn't what I was expecting :grumble:
  • Thought that too... yesterday was my first experience of Level 3 Drills
  • Come the end of the second week, I couldn't really see any changes (I have a fair bit of a 'roll') but I could certainly FEEL the difference, the stomach muscles and whole abdominal area just feel a whole lot stronger, I could manage push ups, when before I couldn't do even one.... I have just started Week 6, when it steps…
  • I've just started Month 2, add me :)
