Hi all
im new here, i have just posted in the Im new section as well. basically I've decided its about time i got in shape for once in my life.
So with the help of a few people im going to try and work my way through the Insanity Workout.
i do like to do allot of reading before i ever do anything, i've hit a wall thought with recovery drinks.
i have been recommended a recovery drink that would work well, but it will cost me over £80 for 60 days worth of servings. For me that is a big chunk of cash (especially after buying Insanity). i have heard of allot of people mixer there own. that is something i really don't want to do.
so what are my options ?
Should i have one after every workout ?
can i alternate days with chocolate milk ?
are there any recovery drinks that arn't so pricy ?
just some info would be amazing
thank you all

Hi
Just use plain water. If you do not like it plain from the tap, add a lemon twist or a cucumber slice or some mint.
You will save yourself a lot of money and stay healthier than drinking some "recovery drink". Chocolate Milk 30 minutes before and right after the workout works too.
Check that "recovery drink" ingredients for High Fructose Corn Syrup, sucralose and some other "proprietary ingredients". Buyer beware
Good luck in your journey0 -
Don't waste your money on any special "recovery drink."
If you really feel you need something after your workout, pretty much anything with some carbs and protein will work. Yes - chocolate milk would be a good thing.0 -
Thank you form that guys,
Will I be missing anything if I don't have something after my workout ??0 -
I have just started Week 5 (recovery week) of the Insanity Workouts and I would echo what other have already said, don't waste your money, really, its just not worth it for these shakes and stuff. Generally, I do my insanity workout as soon as I get in from work, then just have dinner... just make sure you stay properly hydrated and that you you're eating properly to fuel your body.
Good luck with Insanity... #digdeeper0
