  • Temporary changes for me. Nothing high in fat for the first few months or I'd be running to the bathroom (TMI but true). After my body adjusted to functioning without the gallbladder the food is a non issue. Had mine out in 2008.
  • Welcome and best of luck on your lifestyle change (adjustment). My father-in-law just visited Scotland in May and loved it. It's been a dream of his for many years. I am in "New Scotland" ... Nova Scotia :)
  • Pregnant .. and the gestational diabetes is really helping me behave and be extremely careful with my food intake. A blessing in disguise I suppose.
  • Hi Ladies. How was your weekend? It was fairly low key here. I was babysitting my cousins little boy while my husband and daughter went to a family gathering. I fwlt bad for missing it but money is money at this point. I mowed the lawn yesterday. Good calorie burn. I should have worn my HRM just for the fun of it. Diabetic…
  • I have PCOS but can't participate in any loss challenges just yet. I hope there's one on the go in the Fall because I will be looking for some serious motivation after this baby is born. Best of luck to all participating!!!
  • Water ... water ... water!!!
  • Thirsty for sure. That's a fairly common symptom as far as I know. It kept up throughout my pregnancy too so it's easy to get your water intake, which is good :)
  • I'm all for second-hand (with the exception of the crib and car seat ... unless you know who had them before). I used a second hand infant car seat with my daughter because it was used by my cousin and knew it was well cared for and not in any car accidents. Second hand clothes are amazing because of growth spurts. Babies…
  • I love my Wii Fit. I just wish it had a pregnancy mode so it would stop grunting when I step on the balance board. It thinks I'm a pig by now, I'm sure, LOL
  • I agree about the full panel pants. I'm not a fan of them but they really do give shape to the belly. My favorite comfortable pair of capri pants are full panel. As for getting cold feet. This pregnancy was a complete surprise so there was no issue about cold feet. I needed high doses of fertility meds to conceive our…
  • I had an ultrasound this morning. It was great to see her again. I got a glimpse of her last week in my OB office but the pictures weren't clear. The tech said everything looks on target and baby is doing what she's supposed to be doing at this stage. Estimated weight is 4 lbs and her heart rate was 153. I got a look at…
  • I don't wear mine all day long .. only for workouts.
  • Welcome and I love your Chihuahua .. adorable :)
  • Some people have no verbal filters at all. I'm sorry you were disrespected like that :(
  • Welcome and congratulations!!
  • I heard it's okay after the first trimester as long as the salon is well ventilated. Your stylist would probably have more information on that.
  • Protein and fiber isn't bad to go over on at all.
  • Mmmmm @ Poutine. Smarties . .here's they're candy coated chocolate and in the States that's what they call Rocket candy ( so I've heard). I have to agree that Timmy's is delicious ONLY because I haven't had Dunkin'. I have heard great things about it though, lol
  • PCOS - Cyster here. Feel free to add me. I've been through the testing, treatments, fertility medications in order to conceive my daughter 6 years ago. I lost weight and got pregnant on my own .. a complete surprise since we assumed I needed meds to get pregnant. For me, weight loss really helped with my fertility and I…
  • Congratulations!!!
  • I stopped adding sugar to everything actually. It's a double edged sword between real sugar and other sweeteners. Canadians will understand the old Tim Horton's "Double Double" term. 2 spoons of sugar in my coffee and 2 cream!! Now it's no sugar and 1 shot of 2% milk. The less sugar consumed the better. I have PCOS with IR…
  • I agree. Protein isn't bad to be over on at all. It's the carbs that you have to watch out for.
  • Had a busy day yesterday. My daughter had an appointment at the children's hospital for a check-up. The last one before she starts school (grade primary) and now she doesn't have to be seen again until she's 10. She was born with a 2 vessel umbilical cord, an imperforate *kitten* and a tethered spinal cord. That's another…
  • I met my new OB this afternoon. He's fabulous but the wait time is a killer. Why bother telling people to be there at a certain time if there's going to be a 2-hour delay? Crazy ... and I have to do it again in 2 weeks!! Anyway ... He looked at my blood glucose log book and was satisfied with the numbers, then he took me…

  • Rachel - your post makes me happy I'm not living close to immediate family! WOW, that would make me lose my ever loving mind!
  • Congratulations!!
  • Practically everything has sugar in it. Bananas are higher in sugar than an apple .. maybe nix the banana and go for some other non-tropical fruit. I wouldn't worry too much about the fruit sugars because they are natural and not refined and just watch carbs like someone else mentioned.
  • The pre packaged pizza is evil (as are all pre packaged, prepared foods). Sends my blood glucose level through the roof! There are many other healthier pizza options out there though. Not sure how the take-out restaurant pizza will affect anything though. We don't eat it often.

  • I agree with this.
