  • I think it is difficult to call when you're body is still - as you say - adjusting to you going back to work (that will be me next week!). It is such an active life running around/;ooking after young children, so many calories (changing them, carrying them, preparing food etc) that don't get counted - bound to make a…
  • What do you do for a living? Do you think it might be RSI (repetitive strain injury) - related/based?
  • Well done! I started one workout but I am usually aching from doing circuit training or whatever anyway and found the arm-stuff too much at the time. I need something that combines going out to the gym with home DVD stuff/workouts. Well done again on your commitment and results! 8D
  • Yeah be careful you need to learn to relax and chill out - you don;t wanna end up addicted to exercise instead of "bad" foods do you? You just need to be confident that you will do enough through the week to lose and take care of the calories. You will burn plenty of cals. anyway if you are quite active just doing daily…
  • Depends on your build (frame-size) and body type (muscular etc).
  • I'm not sure I should tell you this but my mum used to fry thin slices in butter! (and it soaks up A LOT of butter!!! 80
  • Hi, From what I know from cycling (I'm not a professional), your body gets more efficient at working ie pumping oxygen to the major muscle groups as you get fit, and this would fit with your heart rate climbing faster - BUT, your heart-rate should also be dropping noticeably faster when you stop doing the hard exercise to…
  • Hi I'm Sue in Sheffield. I'm in my 40s and am mum to a little bot of 14 months. Been trying to lose my post-preg weight + finally get control of my weight without using exercise all the time! Into eating healthy most of the time. Love being fairly fit too though, when I get the time these days! Good luck everyone!!! 8D
  • Hi, Yeah there's loads of us. Search on "UK" and "Brit" in the groups. Add me if you like. Sue 8)
  • Fish! esp tuna - v low in fat.
  • Feel free to add me if you like. Don;t be in too much of a hurry to lose those lbs while you;re breastfeeding. That's nature's way of making sure you can feed your baby (although didn;t you find you lost weight at first?). Sue
  • Hi there, really sorry to hear about your lost family members. I think you're right you could exercise more than once a day for 15-20 mins couldn;t you maybe? Take a look at my profule and add me if you like. I'm doing quite well I've just lost 9-10lbs! (Hoping to crack going under 154 soon!). Sue 8)
  • My baby's nearly 14 months and I got a bit more than nthat to lose but have lost almost 10lbs on here already. 8)
  • Thanks for the tips everyone!!! 8D
  • PS Wow! SuperMum!! ;-)
  • I've got a 13mnth old and found that although I was RAGING hungry with the breastfeeding and weihgt dropped off at first, there was a point after the early months where my weight plateau'd, then started to climb again, but i had got used to eating a lot and so carried on...and gained. Try and switch to healthy wholegrain…
  • Nope, I don;t. If it was good enough for Venus and Marilyn Monroe - it's good enough for me!! (I hope I don;t lose my big curves - my 13 month old likes my big mama boobies! and having a cuddly Mum!!!). 8D
  • Try Jan de Vries "craving essence". But other than that, I think seeing it as an addiction and not allowing yourself to eat that first fast "hit" that takes your body into the boom-crash cycle with glucose-insulin really helps. Also really reduce high-starch white flour based foods that mimic sugar's fast high/hit. If…
  • Feel free to add me if you want! Sue 8)
  • I think you're right - when you start tackling portion size, which is the biggy for long-term weight control - I think you just are hungry some of the time. The trick is to stay with it, keep yourself mentally and/or physically busy and get used to it! - It does get better, more tolerable. I've found drinking herbal teas…
  • Make sure you get a good bike-builder. Someone who measures you up accurately (length of arms, in proportion to legs and length of body etc). I had a bike built by someone who guessed and they got it wrong 'coz i've got anthropoid arms!!! Get some tips from other cyclists in a cycling club. Good Luck!!
  • I think it's possible if you are cycling during daylight hours - so once the light comes, but what is the route like? Is it on major A-roads? well-maintained B roads? Across London? etc etc All of those things will either add a danger factor or extra time. I use dto cycle from York to Selby a few times a week (13-ish?…
  • Hi, Ditto - add me if you want! My baby's 1 now - check out my profile. Sue 8D
  • I'm half English and half Scottish. Very boring white British ethnically/heritage I'm afraid! BUT I grew up in a very multicultural, mostly Asian but also Black Caribbean community (small island mostly) and feel those communities form a big part of my roots as most of my close friends were people of colour from 1st…
  • How have you been brought up though?
  • What cultures and traditions were you brought up with though?
  • Hey Garamchai, You have to stop putting so much chiini in your chai and coffee! 8)
  • Do you think it's habit or genuine hunger? Maybe your evening meal isn;t satisfying you enough - are you eating balance of slow-burn foods eg wholewheat pasta/rice/potatoes + large portion of veg - fibre that should fill you up and enough protein to keep you going? What are you doing in the evenings? Are you ending up…
  • I just got a programme done at a gym in the UK and here they advise interval training (basicallly 1 minute really hard fast exercise followed by 1 minute slow, no more than 10 minutes on any machines./doing any 1 exercise). your body gets used to cardio. Also, you shouldn;t expect to see a big change in 1 week. There could…
  • I am a "foody" - I definitely really love food, but I don;t think about it all the time or anything. I think |I used to be really obsessed with it when I was dieting hard and yo-yoing all the time. I used to plan all my meals before going to sleep, and all those good intentions would evaporate in the morning. Now I have a…
