Hi,
Anyone know of any good exercises for that flabby underarm bit under the bicep? I mean obviously there's fat to be lost there, but any chance of helping tone up while it's in progress?
(We call 'em "bingo wings" in the UK, you may have another name for those bits stateside).
Thanx

LOVE BINGO WINGS! try doing some tricep excersizes. the best way to get toned arms is to work all muscle groups on the arm. if you go on youtube.com you can watch some great tutorials. thats what i do when i get in a slump and need to throw in new excersizes0

Regular work outs on a rowing machine as well as dips seem to work for me.0

Hi ShefMum,
Here's something I found online..I'm going to try them myself!
- Hold a small weight in one hand (if you don't have a free weight, use a bag of sugar), and then extend your arm straight out. Lift your arm slowly, raising the weight towards your shoulder. Keep going until the weight is above your back, and then reach back as much as you can without putting too much strain on your arm. Hold it for as long as you can – you should feel it all along your underarm (a sure sign you're targeting bingo wings!).
- When you're out and about, carry a full bottle of water with you and occasionally lift it above your head (when nobody is watching!). You may even want to purchase a pair of wrist-weights to banish bingo wings.
- Lie on your back with your arms above your head on a bed or sofa so that your head is at the end and your arms dangle over the edge (above your head). Holding a light weight, you can then lift your arms slowly upwards, and then slowly back down to the ground.
- When you're watching the TV or have a spare moment, grab a couple of weights (or bags of sugar) and slowly lift them up and down. You don't need to do this quickly – but it's good to repeat the motion at least 20 times every time you do it.
Good luck!!0 -
lmfao bingo wings i love it0

You gotta lift some weights, some heavy weights!0

Can't spot reduce...you'll have to lose overall body fat. But incorporate HEAVY tricep and bicep exercises, as well as chest exercises where triceps are the secondary muscle working.0

Agreed. there is no such thing as spot reducing, just losing fat and developing muscle where you want it.0 -
some call these "granny arms" too, and I hate them! Those are your tricepts & its hard work to tone them but very rewarding! Try these (you need to google or search for proper form, I'm sure there are lots of sites like oxygen.com and Muscle & Fitness for Women (great mags!).
-Dips on a bar, or a chair, or even steps.
-Triceps kickbacks where you hold a weight in your hand and lean over a little and move the weight back, just moving from the elbow down. squeeze at the top and hold it.
-Hold a weight behind your head and stand up straight. Drop the weight down and use that muscle to lift it again. Don't bang your head! (it hurts, I know!)
-Pushups-you can do them against a wall if you can't yet do the full exercise
-Pull ups and Chin ups, or attempting to do them if you can't manage the full thing
Search for "triceps toning" and see what other goodies you find. You'll definitely feel right away what muscles are working for you!0 -
Don't we call them bat wings too?0

Thanks for the tips everyone!!! 8D0
