  • Just added you as a friend... hopefully we can help keep each other going! Disney is one of my big motivators as I'm taking my kids in February and I don't want to look back on such a special vacation and cringe at the pics of myself!
  • It's so hard in the beginning but for me, it really was all about one day at a time, one foot in front of the other. It's hard to imagine while you're going through it, but it really does get better and one day you'll back and realize that there's so much more happiness in your current life than there was before. My focus…
  • Wearing jeans and a tight t-shirt w/o feeling fat and taking plenty of pictures with my kids and enjoying those pictures instead of being disgusted by them!
  • Congratulations on all of your hard work and success! It was so nice to see the photos as my first goal is to lose 30 lbs... more to go after that, but I'm trying to set small-ish goals so it's not so overwhelming. It was really nice to see what a difference 35 lbs. can make!
  • I eat egg whites every day for breakfast w/ veggies mixed in, fat free shredded cheddar, and sometimes turkey bacon. Mix it all together and bake in muffin tins... they are SO good! I make a whole batch, separate them into servings (3 muffins), and just heat them for 30 seconds in the microwave on my way out the door in…
  • You guys are all so helpful - thank you for all the responses. The dish is a pasta chicken dish that says to saute the garlic in that much oil then mix the pasta in. That's probably why it calls for so much oil but I am going to cut it in half (at least) and try water or broth. Great suggestion - I've never thought to use…
  • Oh, good thinking! This recipe calls for 4 but I'm going to see if I can get away with half that just to trim down the fat and calories.
  • I find it REALLY helps me to keep a water bottle at my desk throughout the workday. I was never much of a water drinker before but now that I've switched over to try and be more healthy, I find the more water I drink, the more I want. I keep a 32 oz. water bottle at my desk and I easily drink 64 oz. by lunchtime. When I…
  • Thanks for your help! I'm not trying to make them disappear, I just didn't know if it cooked down while simmering, etc.
  • I like to make a large dish with plenty of leftovers to eat throughout the week... I find that helps to stretch my dollars. I'll make a large turkey chili, or soup, or even a chicken dish and just make one big batch and it's enough to feed me for at least a few meals.
  • I totally agree w/ two points up above. I went from eating a lot of processed foods to hardly any at all. I have egg white muffins (another great suggestion about egg whites above) for breakfast... loaded with protein, low in fat/calories... a fruit for a mid-morning snack... lunch is usually a Lean Cuisine meal (I know,…
  • I'm on 1200 calories too and so far, I've having a lot of luck with it. I'm able to eat three meals a day plus 3 snacks and I am drinking TONS of water (over 100 oz./day). I'm already down 11 lbs. since the first of the year (I obviously know this will slow down soon) and I just feel so much better already. Perhaps it's…
  • Please add me to the group! I started on Monday, but with the crazy schedule of being a single mom, I haven't been able to do it for the last two days. Today will be my day 3 and I will really try to do it for the 30 days straight to see how much of a difference I can make. Love all the support!
  • Thanks for posting about the 30 Day Shred. I've started back on the healthy wagon (again!) but haven't exercised much yet at all. Totally forgot that I have the 30 Day Shred DVD. I know it's an intense workout... not sure how well I'll do on day 1, but off I go to work out! :)
