A lot of people on this forum like the POLAR brand. I use a BEAT 60 that connects via bluetooth to my phone, and data is collected in the endomondo app. I like mine a lot and would recommend it. Biggest reason I went this way vs. the wrist version is my eyesight. Getting older the small #'s on the wrist version is…

Congrats!! A few pointers based on my experience. True PUSH UPS - slip toes into the strap portion not the hand hold, turn onto stomach. Keep straps approx. 5-7" off the ground (approx. the length of your foot). Push yourself up into a plank position, and then start push ups from this position. If this is to much in the…

Quick thoughts on TRX for home use. I have been an avid fan of TRX for almost 2 years now. Taking classes at my local gym with a very good instructor. For this past Xmas my wife gave me one for home use. I use the door / bean bag attachment. I have it setup where the door closes towards you, so all the weight is on the…

Quinn - don't be intimidated. Every TRX user feels awkward at first due to balance challenges, and it is very important to have an instructor in the beginning to teach you proper form. The exercises can be as easy or as hard as you want to make them due to changing your body angles. I have been working with TRX for over 18…

I would definitely give a thumbs up to using a chiropractor. Like any type of service provider, you need to do your research, and find one that you are comfortable with. Like anything some are great, and some are not so great. BUT once you find one that is in tune with you, they are invaluable. I think my doc does an…

Suggest Beat 60, and run it through Endomondo for tracking. Have been using it for approx. a year without any issues. Very happy with it. Found it on Amazon.

I don't see that big of a difference between my HRM and the calculations on the ellipticals on the gym. I do think that the MFP burn suggestions are on the higher side by 15-20%, but have not really worked hard at calculating this difference many times - only a few. For a 250 lb person with that heart rate to only burn…

You really don't need anything to start other than a great attitude. Body weight exercises can get the heart rate up and strengthen all of your muscles easily. Squats, Lunges, Push ups, plank positions, climbing stairs if you have them, etc are all great ways to get started. Have fun with it and enjoy the transformation!!

I have been working with a 30-40 minute TRX class 2X per week for the past 15 months. As long as you have a good instructor, you should really like it. Using a Beat 60 HRM, based upon my profile of 51 yr old 180 lb male, the calorie burn during the class runs in the 600-700 range. HR maxes in the mid 170's and averages in…

I use the beat 60 chest strap monitor. Syncs via bluetooth to my iphone, using the free Endomondo App. Have been very happy with it for almost a year now. Purchased if from Amazon - as I remember it was in the $60-$75 range, but not certain. Good Luck.

Hi Everyone! New to this message board. 50+ yr old male. I have been working with TRX in a class setting 1-2x/wk for over a year now. I think it is one of the most interesting exercise programs you can find. No matter what your fitness level you can find exercises / positions that will challenge you. It is up to the…

Beat 60 from Amazon. Ties into your phone via Bluetooth. Endomondo free app to calculate and keep history. I have had this for 9 months, use it 2/wk and has always been spot on.
