Thanks for your thoughts! I know a HRM would be more accurate, but I don't have one yet. Anyone else have an idea about this?

Thank you so much everyone!

Anyone?

Thank you so much! It really does blow my mind that I have been telling myself that I can't run for over 20 years now. Makes me wonder what other ways I am limiting myself, you know? Eeeek, the 10k boards - scary! Will definitely come and visit but 10k is a looooong way away for me at the moment!

Thank you! It is quite amazing to me as I have spent 20 years or more telling myself and everyone around me that I can't run and that I hate running. Who knew that it would only take 9 weeks for me to be able to run half an hour? And that I would actually enjoy it? Best of luck to you on your running journeys!

Definitely keep it up! I am on week 8 of the Couch 2 5k, and am running 28 minutes without stopping, whereas before I started I was exhausted by 60 seconds! It's amazing how quickly you improve. Just don't push yourself too fast too soon - take it easy and slowly build up. I really recommend following a program like Couch…

Yeah, I wondered about resistance bands, but from reading things on MFP it seemed that a lot of people advised dumbells over resistance bands?

Thank you for all the replies! I was thinking of something like this for the adjustable dumbells? http://myfitness.co.nz/home-gym-dumbbells/adjustable-chrome-dumbell-10-kg This would just be for the next year or so, as when things calm down a bit in my house I want to start going to the gym again (I live in a small town…

Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcome. Yep, Day 2 of Week 6 is tomorrow for me as well. I agree, the 20 min run has really upped my confidence - I NEVER thought I would be able to do that. Then yesterday doing a five min interval seemed so easy! Whereas a few weeks ago I was amazed I had managed a whole five minutes in a…

Thanks everyone, good to see I am probably on the right path... I do exercise, but as mentioned MFP calculates this sepatately. My 5 month old won't nap by himself so I am constantly walking and jiggling him in a baby carrier - and he's 10 kilos, so that uses up a bit of energy!

Awesome, thank you!

Thanks so much for all your help - this is making more sense now. I have never really bothered to think about serving sizes before, so it's all new. I thought about doing the one cup thing as well - makes it easy for sure!

Yeah, I wondered about doing it this way - thank you!

Thanks! Yep, a baseball seems right - my dish looks very like the chilli picture in that guide. So I need to then figure out how many 'baseballs' are in my dish, then that is the number of people it serves? Thanks so much for your help!
