Activity level for a stay at home Mum?

Hey, just want to check what other Mothers have as their activity level. I put lightly active as I'm definitely not sitting down all day, but then I'm not on my feet ALL day either.

I have a two and a half year old, and a five month old, so my days are fairly busy. Does lightly active sound right?

Thanks!

I would think so. That's what I have mine at but I exercise everyday of the week and walk 5 to 6 miles a day also. I have mine set at light activity so it gives me less calories to eat so I can lose weight faster. Also so I don't have to log all my exercising and worry about eating back calories.

If you're using MFP's calculations then you're probably somewhere between sedentary and lightly active. Sedentary is an office worker but they also commute to work, do their housework, shop, etc. Lightly active is someone who spends most of their day on their feet but not doing heavy physical work. With MFP's calculations it doesn't include intentional exercise, you add that separately.

I say sedentary because they include light exercise in it, and just eat more when I exercise.

Depends a bit on whether you tidy everyday and have to carry the little one around a lot...
I wouldn't go less then lightly active! See how it goes, if your hungry go up with it

Yes, sounds right. I use that on MFP. I am currently stay at home.

Also, fitbit averages line up with this :)

I have mine set to lightly active as a SAHM. I am on feet more then off them with cleaning and cooking. I also spend a good deal of time actively playing with my kids.

I use sedentary, and then when I exercise, I eat back about 2/3 of my exercise calories.

Thanks everyone, good to see I am probably on the right path...

I do exercise, but as mentioned MFP calculates this sepatately.

My 5 month old won't nap by himself so I am constantly walking and jiggling him in a baby carrier - and he's 10 kilos, so that uses up a bit of energy!
