thanks for that analogy, the pyramid, that's helpful. Thanks I'm finding that balance now. I've been good the last 3 weekends and feel great about it. Today I ate out because I chose too but the portions were small and I'm not concerned about it.

I meant the extra food I was eating would go to building muscle. I allowed myself in indulge in larger portions for example with the thought that it'll go towards building muscle. I see your point. There is also an element of thought management as well particularly when it comes to time.

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate the input. I meant I wasn't getting take out and over eating on weekends. I'd stick to the same home made food and portions as I do Mon-Fri. Yes I'm familiar with that. For a while I ignored my scale (at the suggestion of someone) but my mindset wasn't great during that time either…

oh yeah, the database is an absolute sh*tshow. Who thought allowing anyone to enter anything was a good idea was probably the single worst decision the engineers ever came up with. You then have the "verified" ones, they have a green check mark next to them. That supposedly means the information is more correct than the…

Yes, I'd like to get into the 170's. Here's the results for the first week - I counted calories and was mostly protein based - My calorie counts were 16,185 with a deficit of 1,856. - For exercise, I lifted weights 3x and ski'd 3 days

Thanks for that perspective, I never thought about shifting some extra calories to rest day when I know I'll be more hungry. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply, I used a BMR at http://www.fat2fittools.com/tools/bmr/ but I can see now the TDEE is easier to comprehend especially at looking at it from the week overall. Heres the link that includes my stats https://tdeecalculator.net/result.php?s=imperial&age=49&g=male&lbs=192&in=65&act=1.55&bf=&f=1 If I…

What would make logging easier? I eat alot of the same food every week so its a matter of copying from previous days. I find the UI difficult to use and cumbersome so I was thinking of automating it by creating a program to do it for me. Maybe this program would be of a help to others if I can get a sense of what would be…

1641 is what was calculated out to be and now that I think about it, I didn't lessen anything out in order to loose weight. But I am running and doing some lifting every other day. I've not been as consistent as I have in the past with exercise so I'm trying to get back into a routine. thank you

That's a very beautiful story, full of inspiration, hope and self love. I was thinking as I read it 'wow she re-conditioned herself' and then you added self hypnosis and I was like YES!! Can you tell me what your practice is? Thank you
-
Awesome, thank you! I've not really ate them back though I'm going to have something in a little bit because I'm going to lift weights tomorrow.

Dude you are ROCKING this thing and are an inspiration to all. You are proof that our past doesn't make us who we are, we are not our story, we are what we decide to be!! Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!

Wow you are SMOKING!!!

You feel bad about it because you've assigned a meaning to it that makes you feel bad. For example say you ate a dozen cookies. Your brain then goes and looks up 'what does eating a dozen cookies mean?" in its vast database of life experience. It comes back with ' I'm a failure, I'm a bad person, I'm never going to get…

Pain vs Pleasure. Every decision we make is driven by one of these two things, the desire to avoid pain or the desire to gain pleasure For more information watch this video starting at 30:53 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKCUOGFkOhQ

First off thank you all for responding, I greatly appreciate the time taken to read and respond to my question. My original trainer was a professional body builder who was big on protein. My goals were to lose weight and build up muscle. No i've been running and lifting weights on and off for years. I started getting to…

Biking to work or school is awesome, I highly encourage it. I started biking to work a couple years ago and its a great way to get your exercise in and get to where you need to be. I enjoy it more than driving now. I love the fresh air, the sense of accomplishment and i don't have tailgaters running me over. Yeah you have…

Actually you are an attention *kitten* which is different than a true ahole. You act like an ahole to get attention and you started this message to get attention. There's nothing wrong with either, every one is free to be whom they like, but let's just get it straight.

You should see a psychologist

I say things like "If it were easy, everyone else would be doing it" "everyone else is sleeping right now" (if its early morning) It's only an hour, 1 single little hour and it'll be over before you know it I might think about how it effects my schedule. I do weights every other day and if all goes as planned it starts on…

You couldn't be more of an attention *kitten*

It could because there are more overweight women then men. On MFP forums it's probably 80% - 90% women.
