  • I've been eating those fiber one chocolate oat bars before I go anywhere I might have a craving, and they have been amazing at helping to keep the munchies away. They have 150 calories, but with skim milk or water they're very filling, and will save you from a high fat high calorie brownie every time. I don't bother with…
  • Hi, it all depends on if you are working while the kids are in school or a stay at home. Since most gyms have baby care there really isn't any excuse not to hit the gyms unless they're sick. You sound young, and my kids range from 10 to 26, so I can tell you that it's all about priorities . Do you think you will ever look…
  • Hi, I used to have similar symptoms when I had an iron deficiency, and would almost pass out when I stood up too fast. Since you had your blood tested you're probably ok, but it doesn't hurt to take a little more. Also, are you sick if you work out outside the gym? What about seasonal allergies? Just a thought, hope you…
  • Hi, I can only say from personal experience that sometimes when you start a new workout routine, especially like strength training, that even though your muscles are getting stronger, you could be retaining fluid for the time being. I found that when I actually wasn't sore anymore in the morning, as in no stiffness either,…
  • Sounds awesome, I never thought of adding fat free cream cheese that way. Thanks for the recipe. J
  • Sounds yummy! I think I'll check it out. j
  • I am so sorry too, now is such a terrible time to be out, but you sound like a smart guy so I'm sure you'll come out on top. Hang in there! J
  • Hi, since TV, Ipod and audio books are the most obvious, how about getting on the phone and chatting. If you're walking, you should be able to hold a conversation without losing your breath. J
  • Hi, the most common cures for irregularity are benefiber or other fiber supplement, drinking lots of water, and avoiding cheese. As to the weight loss I think weight watchers gives too many calories for women over 40, because their metabolism just goes on the blink. You didn't say how old she is, but it is unfortunately…
  • HI!! Glad to meet you!! Julie

  • My guess is that protein is better because it stays in the stomach longer, and it's easier to control. If I started eating extra potatoes, pasta, or whatever, I'll bet I would pack it on real quick. However, if it works for you (adding extra calories and losing) make sure you tell everyone!! I want to try it!
  • Hi, this happens to me too. I love working out, but sometimes the hassle to get started is overwhelming. Now I think 60 minutes a day, regardless of where or how I do it. If it's the gym, great, if not, I go for a walk, or stay home and do sit ups, etc...Even if i can't stay on a diet, or I'm stalled, I can at least work…
  • Hi, I too have heard that people tire of the Gazelle very quickly. The ones I've talked to say it just gets too easy to fast. However, I'm only going by hearsay, don't let me spoil your fun, and they do look fun.
  • After a lowfat, healthy breakfast, lunch and snack, I was at the mall and picked up a two pound container of Harry and David's chocolate covered cherries, blueberries and apricots for my husband for Valentine's day. (plus to give him the antioxidants! ) Of course when I got home I peeled back the airtight seal and nibbled…
  • Hi, as someone who has her her back with some frequency, you should 1st, use ice, not heat, if you use anything the first 48 hours, 2nd, use ibuprofren, not tylenol, etc, 3rd, don't baby it too much. Try to keep moving, though no more bending over for awhile. Bed rest is the new no-no. Also, it keeps your calories burning,…
  • Hi, I'm sorry too. I can't share exactly what you're going through, but I'm sure everybody here would offer as much support as we can. Keep writing, because we're all reading, Julie
  • I agree, how could you even keep your mind on your work if you ate any less? I think ytou're doing GREAT and would not change a thing!
  • Just a guess, but I hop[e you don't have a virus, which is what it sounds like from the outside. Or you're pregnant :noway:
  • Me three, no more than 1400, never less than 1200, and some gym days I work out 2 1/2 hours. I also think that's why it's been slower for me to lose weight, though I've lost 2 inches from my hips. In any case, I am motivated, and not going to eat more for fear of messing up.
  • My son wants to take me to the Bruce Springsteen concert (who I discovered, BTW), now that's feeling old.
  • No idea, but send me one and I'll test it for you:laugh:
  • Any excercise, or turbo jammers?
  • I see you've lost 95 pounds, and went over by 96 calories, so really that's only one calorie per pound! Not sure what that means, but I'm sure we can come up with something!
  • Something I read, and I don't know if it works, is to find the ideal calorie consumption for maintaining the weight you want to be and eatiing that. So if you want to weigh 130 and the calories for that is 1400, that's what you eat. It would come off very slowly though, but that's what the math says.
  • Hi, I'm sure you'll do great with a little planning. If they eat chips, you eat popcorn, when they eat potatoes, you eat tomatoes. Best wishes for you and your baby!
  • Hi, clementines are amazing, easy to eat and peel, and so sweet!!
  • Hi, size zero came along when all the other measurements became more generous. It used to be a size 2 twenty years ago. I sell vintage clothing on ebay, and all the sizes are off. For instance, as a teenager I wore a size 13 jeans, and that's now an 11, or even a 9 for some manufacturers. It's supposed to make us feel…
  • Hi, there's a lot of controversy about that diet, so make sure you read up on the pros and cons if you're going on it long term. I too went on it 25 years ago, when it was all just meat, and I was miserable with constipation, among other things. His new diet is a lot more modified, and hopefully healthier, but from what…
  • Hi, I'm still fairly new, but glad to see you back!!
