I have reached what I consider to be a decent weight. I feel and look good, so I'm happy! Ideally I would like to lose another 5 lbs or so, but I just can't get the motivation to do so! I only require about 1450 calories a day and I feel like I'm hungry all the time when I eat just 1200. :( I'm at school all day and even when I take my lunch I end up eating more than I would like. Brain food, I guess! So I end up going over my MFP calories for the day almost always, and I can't stay within them without feeling ravenous!

Any tips on what to do? As I said I feel ok now (which is a relief!) but those last 5 lbs are always somewhere in my thoughts, so I would like to lose them. Before summer would be nice too, since the clothes are always more revealing.

  • Something I read, and I don't know if it works, is to find the ideal calorie consumption for maintaining the weight you want to be and eatiing that. So if you want to weigh 130 and the calories for that is 1400, that's what you eat. It would come off very slowly though, but that's what the math says.

as far as being hungry make sure your getting in good calories..I tend to eat a lot of beans because they are filling ..I also eat Hummus......it takes some getting used to and some research to figure out what food will fill you up and provide the nutrition you need...also maybe add in a few extra glasses of water.
  • That's really interesting, thanks! I don't really mind it taking a while as long as it comes off eventually, so that sounds like a good compromise.

if you just want to maintain 1450 is low for maintenance calories, I am not sure how active you are or what your BMR is but I am 5'4, and weigh 135, my maintenance calories are between 1600-1700 per day. I think at 1450 you are still losing but only about .2 or .3 of a pound per week, which is good if you are still trying to lose. But if you want to continue to lose, but not be hungry, up your calories to 1600, and burn off 300 exercising. I am assuming you are still working out, and if you work out three times per week, you could eat 1600 per day and not gain.
