Basically, low carb is keto, but with more carbs. Maybe 75-150g of net carbs a day vs the 25g of net carbs or under on Keto. Low carb diets usually aren't low enough in carbs to keep you in full ketosis. Honestly, I don't count anything other than NET carbs. I hate being a slave to counting things and obsessing over…

I'm 5'3 1/2 and will be 45 next month. I don't have a "meal plan" per say. I just do Keto aka 25 or less carbs per day. I don't count anything else, just eat when hungry. My workouts consist of 1 hour a day, 4-5 days a week of lifting, circuits, cardio, or HIIT.

I am 5'3 1/2 :) The half counts!!! And never say never ;)

YOU ARE WAY TOO SWEET, thank you. Actually brought a tear to my eye because I've been STRUGGLING SO HARD since competing. THANK YOU. The first pic was about 10-11 months after I had my daughter (after losing the final baby weight I was holding onto, 16lbs).....here's what I blogged about it back then... I started on the…

Thank you! Yes, it's a really hard concept to wrap my mind around and haven't fully accepted it yet. But I'm working on it ;)

Wow! Your waist is amazing! Good work!

Girl, you look gorgeous!

Yes, my lovely friend, thank you!

I've been down up and back....it's a never ending journey, but I'm getting there. SLOOOOWLY

You, sir, are magnificent!

Wow, dude, that's freakin awesome! Great job!

This is awesome! congrats.

Well, basically just fish and veggies from when I got to about 4 weeks out (with the occasional carb up day once a week or so)...and then continued that for the subsequent 16ish weeks (I did 4 shows in 4 months).

Sweet! I just warn you, if your coach requests of you, hours of cardio, cutting out most carbs, and super low calories, RUN away quickly. My body is in such shock right now that it responds to nothing and the rebound weight will not come off. I'm going for blood work as soon as my yearly appointment time approaches in…

Also the expense aspect....here's a breakdown I blogged about the expenses for my first competition...as you can see I did a lot of the stuff myself to help on costs, like make-up..that can run 100-300 dollars just to have your it done for ONE DAY!!! I also found an opportunity to work for the tanning company to get my…

I replied to you on my thread that you commented on. xoxo

I totally agree lili! Anyone that ASKS for my opinion always gets the DON'T DO IT answer from me. The aftermath is not worth it. Did you have the same issues with rebound weight not coming off? Are you back at your normal weight now? I can't seem to get out of this "hole"...I'll lose 5, gain 2-3, lose again, gain again. So…

Thanks! I love the shirt too. When I played, my derby name was Bling It On  I am proud of the achievement, but it came at a great cost. Did you experience the same issues with the rebound weight not coming off no matter what you did? If so, what has been the outcome, did your body eventually bounce back and how long…

Joy, I hear you with the busy life. I did my competing during the busiest time of my life with a 1 year old turning 2, working as a 911 dispatcher on the midnight shift, working as the bookkeeper for my husband's business, and also playing Roller Derby on the team I founded. My husband was also competing at the same time.…

Yes, I'm definitely trying. Thank you.

Thank you!

I'm 5'3 1/2 and I'm 39yoa. Right now is my lowest weight of 112-115 for competitions. Heading into off season after this Saturday's competition. Hoping to bulk and build enough muscle to be somewhere in the 120-125 range as my off season "normal" weight. :) We'll see how that goes.

Thanks!

First pic was Dec 2011, 2nd pic was June 2012...in that time frame I was only working out at home (while my infant napped). I did Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 and P90X. I also cleaned up my diet. :) And to answer your other question from pic 1 to pic 2, I had no intentions of competing at all. That didn't come to play til…

I'm 5'3 1/2 (yes it counts, lol)! 39yoa....the first pic was at 138 in Dec 2011 and last pic on competition day at 112 in Sept 2013. I hope to be in the 120-125 range on off season.

During cutting, Tilapia is a staple in my diet. My trainer carbs me up the last few days before a show, but I do Figure and need to be "bigger". Lower cal's are to be expected during this week only. To make up for the lower cal's my trainer stops my workouts on Wed and I do nothing from Thurs-Sun.
-
I always get oats in the am....For my most recent Figure comp...my trainer actually carb'd me up for the final 4 days! yay I actually got to eat THREE PB&J rice cakes the night before :) and my regular oats the morning of the show. She has me take water pills (to dry you out) for 4-5 days before the show. I still drink my…

There's no bigger motivator for me than to know I am striving to be the best me I can be! That and my little girl, showing her what a strong, independent, hard working, self confident woman is like!!! The sky's the limit...Baby you're a star!

Thank you, I've always worked out and weight trained, just not "seriously". So I had a foundation laying underneath the "fat" layers. May was when I started working with a trainer specifically for competitions!
