:# At that weight you'd fall forward when you stand up!!

Thanks for the advice. I think I will aim for the July one but will probably end up doing September. I'm very excited as there is no time pressure on the first one... it's the subsequent ones you want to beat your own time.

I'm exactly the same and have been wondering about the same thing.. I just bank up the deficit until the next day when my appetite decides to come back aggressively
-
so I can eat more! Also the clarity that comes into my brain which enables the rest of the day function much more smoothly..
-
I second this, I firstly tend to overeat after dinner (because kids are in bed) and I tend to eat crap. Secondly i find that if I do eat after dinner my sleep quality is rubbish, which when you have two under 6, just makes you feel crap the next day.

I am the cook of the family with two girls, 3 and 6. Basically the night before I prepare two containers of stuff - a massive box of salad - a smaller box of cut up veggies First is for snacking and main meals, second is to make smoothies, both stave off the hunger and brings about automatic portion control on eating what…

Can you cut your fruit and veggies into smaller pieces so it's less work for your blender? Might save you $100 lol Otherwise at Costco in Australia, they sell an excellent Cuisinart one for A$99. Not sure if they have it on your end but on current exchange rates should be cheaper in USD.

Racing Weight Run Less Run Faster ... my running bible, awesome for a mum with a PT job and two little ones.

But then how do you gage whether you're working hard enough? is it just from muscular strain? Sorry am kinda new to all this, am normally a runner but would like to get a stronger core to minimise recurring injury..

Have the Suunto M5 with running pack but it doesn't really give me enough running info... now am hoping santa is very kind and bring me a Garmin Forerunner 620 !!

If you're not keen to try meds or therapy I would suggest some form of exercise, it's what kept my PPD under control (I went through PPD with both my daughters for a good 9-12 months PP) Prior to being pregnant I used to exercise very regularly, PP that obviously became almost impossible, so once their sleep schedules…

Thanks guys.!! It's been discouraging to have trained so much and have this happen but hopefully the base is enough to pull me through..
-
yeah the 5:2 is the five days off and 2 days fasting. Have to psych myself up to give this a try!
-
I am training for my fourth in September but just want to give you a high five and best of luck with your first one - you can't really top that sense of achievement when you finish your first!
-
has anybody done this while doing endurance running training? I would like to give the 5:2 a try but I really don't want to compromise my training..
-
I was the same until I cut most carbs at night. If I get hungry I eat as much almonds as I want and that helps because you can't really stuff yourself with that much nuts (well I can't LOL)
-
Congratulations... nothing beats the feeling of finishing that first half marathon!! Onwards and upwards to the next one !

I found out yesterday morning (am in Sydney) when I was in the gym for some interval training for an upcoming HM. My trainer told me and I just kept shaking my head - I still can't believe that it happened. Let's hope this galvanises all runners into more events to show them f*ckers that cowardly acts of violence will not…

Thanks guys for the great advice! I will definitely get my shoes re-assessed after the HM. I have been on the Brooks Addiction since I started running but I think that's more suited to heel striking because there's a lot of support there. Now that I am trying to midfoot strike (I think I am probably forefoot striking), I…
-
It's the bottom of my feet and also the side of my big toe - worse on the right side because I suspect I overpronate more on that side. How long did it take you to change from heel strike to midfoot strike, out of curiosity? I just wonder how much longer of this I have to bear :( Also, did you experience achilles pain when…
-
No... I overpronate so I had my shoes fitted three years ago when I started running... I think I will have to change my shoes but I didn't want do that until the gait settles down and certainly only after the HM. My concern is that at this end of training I really need to put the mileage in, but the blistering if forcing…

Congratulations on doing your first HM! Have no idea what the correct way is but I have been on MFP's and have been eating on a deficit (1lb loss a week) for all my HM training (I have done two and have a third coming up in May). I find though that I burn so much (esp the later part of training when you're really logging…

Sydney Morning Herald HM - 16th May ... feel free to add me!
-
Thanks for that... do you find yours quite heavy (the 910xt I mean) Cheers KWKY
-
Thanks guys - that's very helpful!! Now I just gotta work out what I should do with my Suunto M5 - works perfectly well , just doens't do what I want it to do :(

cottage cheese mixed up unsweetened cocoa powder and a bit of stevia for taste..
-
I totally agree with this. I find that if I put it off until later on in the evening I am so completely exhausted by the end of the day I will not do the exercise I intend to do. It also puts me a in a much better mood for the rest of the day
